Line 6 Helix Stadium

Question of the YouTubers who are you most interested to see demo this thing ?
I have to go with. Leon Todd
Brett Kingman, Paul from the studio rats, Sonic Drive , Thorn , Micheal Nielsen

I don't play a ton of what he plays, but JNC is going to matter for me too. Guy really knows how to dial in the Helix reverbs. I got to have some pretty tone scenes in my patches too...

I.m.h.o ... Y/T Reviews and demo's are two totally different things.

Gear reviews are a "relative" thing. Whereas demo's are a nuts and bolts thing.

Y/T reviews are almost always either worthless or chronically biased. So being totally honest - I cant envisage any real-world scenario where any already rusted-on / committed supporter / promoter / endorsee of some other "Brand", will give an unbiased relative-review of the Stadium - regardless of what they really think of it - be it great or shit. To me, this is just human nature, and I don't think imagining or pretending otherwise is credible.

As far as Y/T demo's are concerned however, thankfully we have people like Leon, Burgs, Michael Nielsen, Pete Thorn etc.... who are each able to professionally demo and highlight the pro's and cons of any unit in a fantastic way so a potential buyer has a more detailed sense of what a unit can and cant do, well or badly.

Just how I see it.

The most exciting things about Stadium - for me - won't be in any review or demo. That will be the usability and user experience. Me making MY favorites and seeing how great the new search function is for me finding MY preferred tones. Me seeing how responsive and gorgeous that touchscreen actually is. That's the stuff that will define how I feel about it.

Like, I felt a certain way about the Tonemaster Pro when it released and even when I saw it in person in GC. But when I bought a secondhand one for a great deal and began setting it up for myself....whole new ballgame. I mean, it helped that they'd made some sonic fixes/upgrades too, but Line 6 is already straight there with the current state of Helix.

I really mean that. I'm excited for Agoura amps, but I've really fallen in love with just the 3.8 amps and Catalyst originals. Those 9 amps realistically emulate pretty much every guitar tone I can imagine. So I know I'll be straight sonically from day one.

Any of these 3 ever done a Helix demo?

The multi brand 2203 comparison of Leon’s featuring the HX Stomp doesn’t count. Edit: Looks like Leon has actually done a number of HX Stomp featured videos that I hadn't seen before. But Kingman and Nielsen come up with zero Helix content that I can find. I don't think they're particularly interested. Kingman does almost all Fractal modeler content. Nielsen has done Kemper (which he sells profiles for) and Tonex.

I'm lest interested in Demos than I would be just hearing a few trusted voices talk about the intagibles like how it "feels" to play since that seems to be the primary differentiator these days. No doubt Pete Thorn or Tim Pierce or 2112 or JNC can make it sound really good with a curated recording. Of course at the same time I've never heard any of those guys really blast a piece of gear as crap--they are all polite and diplomatic. I'll be a little disappointed if they talk mainly about Showcase and search features and hype and touchscreens and focus view and not so much about Agoura and to what extent they feel it's an upgrade from present modeling. That would be sort of the, "Yeah, she's kinda fat and ugly, but she has a nice personality," take on it.

Leon Todd always gets a good tone and represents the product well. Pete always makes an awesome track and shows its strengths.

Paul sounds like 109% Paul no matter what he plays through. I don’t know the other two.

Yep.

Leon and Burgs are brilliant fellow Aussies - sadly I'm not anywhere near their leagues :(

They are, to the best of my knowledge, rusted-on Fractal users / supporters ... no problems there ... they use Fractal because to them, its "the best" ... whether they have any sort of formal connection or not is irrelevant.

As such, I would not look to them for any sort of relative or comparative review of Stadium.

Putting aside their chosen platform, they are amazing at demonstrating what a product can and cant do and go out of their way to make it sound as good as they can :)

And yes, I am certain they are paid in cash or kind for their demo's .... its their job .... more power to them !!

I don't want to see Jason Saddites within 50,000 miles of it with his pot of boiled milk.
Imagine if you will
With the new much more powerful CPU
Just how many compressors can be added and side chained
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. For the longest time I wondered what the huge draw was and what all the adoration was about. Really good player, seems like a nice enough guy too. But man...the tone and unnecessary complexity of the presets. Split crossovers, big compression at the end of the chain, no dynamics, boiled milk tone. Ugh.
