Line 6 Helix Stadium

Helix Stadium will be the new flagship with a new modelling tech, so realistically, current Helix devices will just receive less and/or smaller updates. Probably just new cabs and effects.

Being Line6, I trust they won't fully abandon the current Helix family, but we were ready to say goodbye after firmware 3.80.

Anyway, current Helix devices are good enough for most people. I think they will become the "new Pod Go". Stadium is the premium thing, not for everybody, but for enough modeling enthusiasts.

The Stadium Floor is just 350€ more than Kemper MK2, and 250€ more than Quad Cortex, and the Stadium XL Floor is 100€ cheaper than FM9 Mk2 Turbo. I those devices were selling well, the Stadium line will do just fine.

Honestly the new modelling thing while is interesting is less interesting than all the other stuff they've put in this incredible machine.

Going the NAM route is just inviting a race to the bottom. I wouldn't get near it with a ten foot pole. Let the cheap import brands own that space.

None of those 'cheap brands' are natively loading NAM models, instead they internally convert it again into their own format, or in other words it's a lossy clone of a NAM model.

If Line 6 wanted to, they could support NAM natively (depending on the processor in these new units), or they could do a similar trick as the other 'cheap brands' by running a script internally that then converts NAM models into their own new Proxy model format.

Kinda like saying ''Going the IR route is inviting a race to the bottom''.

Let this thread show you that if you move the needle enough that Fractal owners are rooting for success and cheering on a new product, ya did something right. When you spin the needle in circles so your new product can’t speak for itself and only the loyalist have excitement for it, well, you reap what you sow.

I just watched the presentation and the hits just kept coming. It's like you've read all my shitty rants about modeler user experiences and then did something about it. And then kept going with stuff I didn't even think of.

I know where my money is going for holidays next winter. It's visiting the Helix Stadium.
