Line 6 Helix Stadium

This looks really, really great - but I don't need a lot of the functionality - showcase, profiling, mic input etc. etc.

What I want are the next gen amp models and fx and new interface. I can afford this but I don't want to spend extra $ for a bunch of things I won't use. I guess we'll have to wait for the rest of the portfolio to flesh out...which could be who knows how long.
Same boat here. Maybe down the line there'll be a leaner meaner version of some sort. I'm glad I sold my Helix LT when I did though.

I've just finished watching the live stream and while @Digital Igloo said that the old stuff isn't going anywhere It's not clear to me whether stadium and helix/HX can share presets (with obvious limitations) or not.

In other words, is the ecosystem still one or we have now 2 separate worlds under the helix name?
I’d guess the new thing can load old stuff but old things won’t be able to load the new stuff. Or if it does it will be restricted by DSP.

Priced me out for anything this year. I’ll be curious to see the “Venue” or “Club” or whatever the Stomp-alike ends up being, though.
I was starting to save money for buying a house as soon as possible, and I stuck to spending only on a Fender FR12 (btw, a Line6 Stadium FR would have been the icing in the cake) and a MacMini M4. I can include the Helix Stadium Floor but goddamit XD

Some comparisons

There’s also (for me) a lot of stuff I would have used 5-6 years ago that I now have other stuff for (the showcase feature would been a great thing in 2018 before I built out my band racks) and I really don’t need MORE than what Helix does now, just different things. I will definitely be looking out for the little sibling, though.

Helix Stadium will be the new flagship with a new modelling tech, so realistically, current Helix devices will just receive less and/or smaller updates. Probably just new cabs and effects.

Being Line6, I trust they won't fully abandon the current Helix family, but we were ready to say goodbye after firmware 3.80.

Anyway, current Helix devices are good enough for most people. I think they will become the "new Pod Go". Stadium is the premium thing, not for everybody, but for enough modeling enthusiasts.

The Stadium Floor is just 350€ more than Kemper MK2, and 250€ more than Quad Cortex, and the Stadium XL Floor is 100€ cheaper than FM9 Mk2 Turbo. I those devices were selling well, the Stadium line will do just fine.

My FAS devices will sleep soundly tonight, and I don’t even remotely approach this as a replacement for them. I like fiddling with cool shit, and the Stadium looks cool as shit. :ROFLMAO:
Unlike other recent devices, this comes across as a "must buy", just for all of the good ideas they've already shoehorned in. I think I may sell a bunch of gear (including the toaster) and pick this up just for the fun factor.

....and like you, I doubt that it will pose any real challenge to my FM9s.

Yeah, I see them as two very distinct value propositions. Fractal has a content depth that just is untouchable by any other company, even if they have significant development resources.
