Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

You're alright Bri. You're not a douchebag.

I do enjoy this forum

First - Proxy is on par with everything else on the market that I've used extensively, which is Tonex v2, QC v2, Kemper v2, and NAMM - granted, I have the least experience with NAMM. I've done a bunch of NAMM captures, but I rarely play NAMM captures in any meaningful context apart from just making them.
So this has not been my experience.

My experience has been fairly middling. I don't hate it. But for the kinds of hard-rock and metal high-gain tones I go for, Proxy is not very accurate; currently. I believe there will be improvements in the coming months to a year that will get it where it needs to be. But right now it isn't where it needs to be for me.

Pretty much every single clone I did, was a significant distance away from the amp.

Yeah with high gain stuff I definitely hear a difference. Granted - I only own a couple high gain amps, and it's not my wheelhouse at all.

1.3.1 hotfix coming soon that improves a couple sonic quibbles in Proxy. Additional improvements coming in 1.4. Honestly, we could've kept tweaking things forever, but at a certain point, we need the masses to start cloning stuff so we can collect sufficient data to make sure we improve things the right way.

Are you getting the error that the max number of favorites have been reached? I'm with you there...
yes sir.

-restored to factory default via maintenance menu
-tried to save favorite on empty Stadium - worked
-restored backup March22 copy
-tried to save favorite - failed
- removed one favorite to see if it needed space
- added a new one - worked
- tried to add a second new one - failed with 'full' message

there seems to be a set limit despite advertising in the manual that thousands could be saved.
I probably have about 60. Yours, Leons and some of my own.

I wonder what it is w the high gain stuff , because you mentioned as well w the Agoura modelling .
It seems great on the cleans EOB
But most complaints on this forum and others Center around the high gains and now it seems proxy is having similar issues

Those who remember creating captures with early versions of Tonex probably recall there were accuracy issues as you extended further away from the midrange - so the lows and highs were there but not quite right. Saturation levels varied too IIRC.

To some extent I think NAM also suffered from this in earlier versions.

That’s the vibe I get from Proxy in its current form having created a handful of crunch and high gain direct captures through a Suhr RL. I can get close, and the EQ options provided in the block can help with aspects of that.

I’d say I'm optimistic given it’s the first pass.

IMO the biggest win here (which will probably be overlooked) is how easy it is to create a cap, and the controlled process that should eventually lead to really consistent caps for those of us who like to share and trade.
