Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

The L6 engineers have a room filled with your cash. Every half dozenth comment they read here, they go roll around in it and it helps them get through the day.

They have. Something here when the 5153 disparities were first pointed out.

On a more general level, stuff that gets brought up repeatedly here is absolutely seen by their development team.

It may be a rowdy group around here, but they know most critiques are made in good faith, and often with empirical data to substantiate them.
I’m not questioning the motives or legitimacy of the posters here.

I do see the comment re: the 5153 from DI in December. I guess we’ll see if any underlying bugs were found.

My main question, I guess is - several posters here have reported that Agoura is lacking in the highs. We can debate the validity of some of those comparisons (eg, those that were done with Stadium vs Fractal), but comparisons have also been made to physical amps and L6’s own legacy models of the same amps.

So what’s the consensus at L6? Do they agree with these observations or not?
Is there a bug or not? (Rhetorical questions, I don’t necessarily expect answer.)

I'm only answering because you quoted me in this post: I would lay even money you'll see nods to Agoura and Proxy improvements in the release notes for the next however many firmwares.

Regardless of how good Proxy is I hope they still consider NAM support. Much like IR’s I’d still like the ability to have my favourites be brand agnostic.

I would appreciate a one-and-done format that is transportable to the largest possible pool of compatible hardware. It’s better for the capture creators and the casual consumer guitarist. NAM is the horse I’m betting on, so I’m with you.

I don’t personally feel another vendor locked solution is helpful in this space, and NAM has a several year head start on Proxy.

I get why L6 can’t hitch their cart solely to an open source solution, but I do hope we see NAM support eventually. I don’t want to be creating NAM, Tonex, and Proxy versions of my caps.
