Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

I would wait and then see what they add. But buying a new flagship unit, I would guess that there was some new sounds in there. Like look.. it can now do this and this. Is that wierd to think?
I think it's more so the whole "Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" idea. Not that you are throwing stones but the QC was quite bare when it launched, especially with what was promised. So to support that but then hate on another product is kinda a double standard.

However, I believe you have been critical of NDSP and their slow update pace. I also agree, L6 is getting more leeway with this launch which I get but also don't. The QC was NDSPs first hardware launch, youd expect hiccups.....but they really pushed the envelope of mismanagement of a launch, new product or not.

Honestly, I expected more out of L6 given they have plenty of experience launching products. But I'm also willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since they have a proven record.

I mean... there's an entire new amp modelling engine in there? It launched with 22 new amps, most of them multi-channel 🤷‍♂️

Pretty sure the QC hasn't gotten 10 new amps in the past 4 years.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, i can understand people who sees Stadium as too same-y to the OG Helix. But no new sounds - let alone, features?

I hope it gets better and better with time!
And I hope that folk with Stadiums are happy :beer
Even if I think it a wierd one... I hope thats ok too

Yes that is what I mean! It`s like a new shiny Helix ( from the looks, at this moment )
I`m sure it will be good with time

The signal to noise ratio is very very good, and the overall sound quality is much better than the Quad Cortex - significantly so.
What do you mean by "overall sound quality", apart from s/n ratio? Are we talking about their respective amp/cab modeling here? (I'm just curious given the context of your other comments re: Agoura in this same post.)

The Helix UI/UX is one of the most copied and commonly understood in the industry, and they own dozens of amps and cabs outright.

How different - in terms of content at launch - than the Helix did you expect it to be?

Having a rough first 10 minutes with the Stadium. Can’t get past the login screen after connecting WiFi. No QR code or 6-digit code shows and entering username/password doesn’t enable the action button. Had to run to an appointment and will try later.

Edit: I was able to get it going from the USB-C connection and L6 Central to update the firmware.

Been content with an acoustic at the edge of a campfire... think I used fingers for effects. That being said. step on a stage and need tools that can make it happen. Love my tube rig and couldn't be happier with it. To me one of the best things about music is making it with others. That's easiest to facilitate if I have gear with me and can (minimum) set up and join anywhere at a moments notice, hence Stadium. I hate wrestling and scrolling a device any more than I have to just to get to the art part. User Interface and Showcase -- Major Asset.
I hope L6 sells tons of these units so they can continue to develop and support it, but... I hope those sales are on Mars so I can be selfish and of a few having it here... I hear tell its terrible at everything

try via usb?

try via usb?
Good idea - that is now in progress and seems to be working for the firmware download using L6 Central. I tried my iPhone hotspot for the WiFi connection to login and that didn't work either.

I'm kinda talking about both. The way the hardware sounds, how much of your guitar signal it preserves, how low the noise floor is, but also how 3D and life-like everything can sound.

It is very hard to communicate that I'm not saying their modelling is bad. I don't think it is at all.

First of all, I don’t think Line 6 is getting that much leeway, the catch a lot of flag for the bugs Stadium launched with, for not sounding like Fractal, for being too expensive, not having new effects, and the list goes on.

Also, I don’t think Line 6 has promised something and not delivered or taken forever to deliver on said promises.

I can’t say the same or NDSP. They make great products but will never get a dime from me because I dislike their style. And I’m sure some, even quite a few, dislike Line 6. It’s ok.

I don’t feel like I bought Stadium expecting something that’s not there already or that they’ve clearly stated would come later - ie proxy, more Agoura amps and expanded Showcase features.
