Thanks for sharing that and it does sound more dynamic to me than the previous HX devices. I'm looking forward to getting mine tomorrow.

I'll admit - I got caught up in some of the negative comments in threads over the weekend while catching up on the bugs/updates and history.

correct me if I'm wrong, but your comparison of the new vs old models is as they are both played through the Stadium? A true old to new test would be having the old model played through the OG Helix. I only say this as the Stadium would be adding its own inherent new improvements.

I think both clips sound good regardless and it would be all I would need. or should. lol.

The differences between OG helix and Stadium are only going to be the converters and circuitry though right?

I don’t doubt that the new ones are improved but the overall DSP/modelling is going to be the same once it’s got itself into the modeller. If you reamped both through USB/SPDIF, wouldn’t they be identical?

I’d imagine comparing A/D converters to be much much smaller than the difference between legacy models and agoura

All I'd really expect to hear between the OG unit and the Stadium is a lower noise floor, maybe a slightly crisper high-end on the DI signal because of converter quality differences, but nothing that would be night and day.

compare the OG Helix Panama with Stadium's version of the original Panama.

The hardware is different.
Higher dynamic headroom statistics, perhaps different AD/DA converters, perhaps a different DI algorithm altogether.
People are stating that the new Stadium has a better feel.
Is that hardware based or is it part of the new Agora modeling/models.

I'm not discounting any value of Nathan's test at all.
His test compares 2 models that are available in the new Stadium.
IMO, it just isn't comparing the real old model until you are using the OG Helix.

For those sitting on the fence pondering whether to buy the new platform, and still have the Original Helix, it may prove helpful.

I don’t notice Stadium feeling better than Helix on Hx amps in practical usage. The big increase in feel is definitely a product of Agoura.
