Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

@Digital Igloo You may already be aware of this, but I've noticed a distinct bug in some of my patches using identical amps on the same path. I've used two identical deluxe reverbs with identical dual speaker blocks split left and right on path 2A and 2B. The split and join are both hard-panned. I've tried both copying and pasting the blocks and creating both amp and cab blocks from scratch, but once there are two identical amps, one of them begins to sound different, like some computation has been doubled or a similar type of effect. From what I've seen in other patches, this won't happen with different amps, and I've tried a similar setup with identical amps separated on paths 1 and 2 but still hard-panned. In those cases, there were no issues.

Okay, great news. This bug I reported this morning is actually solved now in 1.2.1! I'm guessing it was this item:
—IRs could incorrectly load when more than one was used on a path—FIXED

Thanks @Digital Igloo !

I did the update last night but didn't get a chance to play around with it because I didn't see the update was available until after I had put the guitar up for the night. I wasn't affected by any of the fixed bugs so I don't expect to notice much with this update.

I want to remember there is some way to do do the update independent of wifi. If anyone knows what that is and could summarize the basic steps I'd appreciate it. I initially wanted to try it that way to be familiar with it as a backup just in case. I went through the app (updated to 1.21) and got stopped with a message that the unit was not connected to the computer via USB, even though I had a cable plugged into the USB-C port on the unit and my PC, and the PC recognizes the Stadium as it's sound card/audio device.

Afterward I was able to update over wifi without any issue, but I still would like to know what it takes to update independent of wifi. I'm one of the folks who has had some flakiness between the app and the unit.

You can also update via USB using the Line 6 Central app.

Okay. I did that, and as of this moment, everything appears to be working properly. Thanks, everyone, for their assistance, and apologies for momentarily hijacking this thread.

Well, this is a bummer, @Digital Igloo. After the 1.2.1 update, the MIDI thru doesn't appear to be working. Notes (MIDI channel 1) and pad hits (MIDI channel 10) from the Akai are not making it to the GM-800. If I hook up them up to each other without going through the Helix, they work fine, but no joy when running through the Stadium. PC changes sent from the Stadium to the GM-800 (MIDI Channel 8) work. I've checked all the cable connections, and the GM-800 works fine through the GK pickup.

Global settings for MIDI on the Stadium are:

MIDI Over USB C: On
MIDI Thru: On
GLobal MIDI Channel: 2
Bypass/Ctrl MIDI Channel: 3
Receive MIDI PC: Off
Send PC w/Preset: Off
Duplicate Send PC: Off
Send Snapshot CC: Off

Sent to the team. Can't confirm right now because I'm headed to Anaheim.

You can also update via USB using the Line 6 Central app.
Ah, now that you mention it, I remember that. I was trying to do it through the Stadium app. Since their are prompts in the app that lead you toward updating via the app, is that a function we might expect in the app one day?

Next time I'll try using Line 6 Central. Nothing wrong with wifi, I just want to have gone through the steps of the alternate one time.

Thank you.

Just heard back from QA; MIDI Thru is working normally here, although it was never intended to send MIDI thru to USB-C. Sounds like you're just using DIN, correct?

Mmmh... Looks like the competitors are all releasing smaller size BUT still powerful units.

Any chance we see a Helix Stadium Stomp with the same power as the Stadium XL on day ?

On 1.2.1, I'm trying to rename a Command Center command, but "Label/Color" is grayed-out both on the unit and in the editor.

EDIT: Just seems to be on the one patch. I'll try rebuilding it.

Saw the Stadium at my local store for the first time this week, that touch screen sure is snappy!

The expression pedal, I'm not so sure about. I prefer the looks and feel of the one on the Helix Floor, tbh.

Anyhow, I'm late to the party, but I gotta say... really cool design!

@Digital Igloo Is there any additional information on when the Stadium Floor is releasing? I know for myself, I was hoping something would be announced now that NAMM is here and the XL is starting to receive serious updates

I know the FB group gets some stick here (and often with good reason) but I still check it occasionally.

Saw this earlier from NAMM so hopefully we’ll get some details on Proxy over the next day or two :)
