Here's a question. Speaks to @sashimi observation "It's always the high gain guys". To which I say it does seem this way. And I'm as high gain as they come 
I don't recall ever hearing about any of the Fender/jugband guitar amps having issues. Other than @EOengineer comments on the early clips of some Fender Reverb thing (?) gain range being off early on in this thread? Is it just an what the developers ears are tuned to thing? Seems like all the Tweeds and other Fender style stuff gets great praise. It is definitely a high gain guy thing if we're going by that.

I'd imagine a lot of posts about tones fall under personal preference and being able to diagnose anything being wrong is pretty difficult to do remotely. Modelling manufacturers would exhaust themselves treating every kind of tonal issue as a bug. I'm sure they're looking at it, and I dont find it strange for them to not comment yet, especially if they are still working out exactly what's going on.

I'm not so quick to agree, actually. A lot of complaints concerning HX (squirrels etc.) came from edge-of-breakup guys. It's not strange; it's just out of character. I know e.g. DI has a professional responsibility to avoid a PR shitstorm, but there's no missing the contrast in the way he's responded to these concerns vs. any other Stadium or Helix concern that's come up in the past ~15 years. Maybe he's just swamped, or maybe he's waiting for something concrete from his devs... I don't know. But I do think there have been some comments and clips that warrant a response. The Mk III vs AM4 vs Stadium clips that were posted a couple of pages back definitely exceed what I'd call "personal preference"; they're either some kind of user error, or some kind of bug.

I always mean to take a trip into Fender town in the digital realm but never seem to make it out of the high gain suburbs
I'm guessing that they're having to spend a lot of time fixing bugs, as that's an area that's had a lot of complaints. They also had to spend a lot of time getting Showcase ready and are now working on Proxy. They probably have a lot of stuff to deal with at once. Hopefully they'll chime in about it at some point.

I don't expect a response fwiw. I've had years of people demanding responses from me, and sometimes your hands are tied, or you genuinely cannot answer, or you have orders from on high that prevent you from going too deep.
Ultimately, I'm a fan of Line6 and the development team. The guys I've spoken to are all top notch totty, and so I'm willing to wait to see what happens with the Stadium. I think eventually it will be killer. The workflow is already leagues ahead of the competition IMHO.

I think he did post a few weeks back saying they'd look again at the EVH model, not sure he's commented since but I'm sure the concerns are being heard. I don't think they have much to gain by posting much else until they know more, although in the meantime, for users it's definitely helpful to understand what's going on (even if it means discovering things ourselves).

Yeah, they're fighting on a lot of fronts. Don't get me wrong: they definitely have my sympathy. Crunch time sucks.

Yes, I think the hardest things for digital are EOB, especially where the "amp" is crossing from clean to distorted and back with right hand technique or notes sustaining, and then high gain. There is a lot going on with high gain tones with tons of harmonic content, and amp components intentionally pushed, plus the modern circuits are more complex with more areas/stages of tone shaping and gain.
I would guess that these are going to be the two things hardest for any digital solution to model with high gain probably the harder of the two. It's definitely not just that the HG guys are a bunch of whiners or that the vendors are ignoring them. I think it is just the hardest part to get consistently right.
I think the bugs have been more of a reason to as why some have felt inclined to jump ships, but I also can't see it not affecting some on the fence. As some one who gets immense enjoyment out of Stadium, it's sad to see, but quite a few of the ones leaving now, will be back again when the platform matures. The number of people in the exodus probably also seem artifically inflated becaues we're in this niche of niche places.

I would say that the EoB amps / clean amps are so much more satisfying to play through, but as my own experiement quite clearly demonstrated, the highend roll of, and midrange increase, is there on the cleaner amps, too (using the same settings as OG Helix.)
I'm not sure if the "bug" is making it easier for me to dial things in, but it should of course still get sorted if it's a bug.
And as @MirrorProfiles mentioned, fixing a bug shouldn't mean that Stadium's amps suddenly aren't enjoyable to play through.
Yeah, I was afffected by that unnatural (to my ears) crackle decay from the OG Helix. I simply stayed away from the amps most prone to it and for a while used orignal amps and later amps (especially the GSG) where it wasn't pronounced or present.
Happy to say, I've not had this problem with Stadium.

Yeah, I get it. They can't say anything that will undermine their own marketing, and they can't risk making promises they can't keep in a timely fashion. Trouble is they've set the bar so high for themselves. If they're not unruffling feathers in real time, it looks like avoidance. I know that's not the reality, and I'm sure they have the talent (and the horsepower in Stadium) to get things right. Just not sure what kind of timeline we're looking at.
I know the disparities are on their radar. It's been raised by people aside from random forum-dwellers (even if DI likes hanging out at said forum).
But until the bigger bugs (e.g. snapshot/channel transition noises, random things disappearing from presets) are fully squashed, I imagine we won't hear much about what may or may not be a muted high-end/accuracy issue.
Keep in mind, they're also working on offering a roadmap of the immediate future for NAMM while doing all of this stuff. But yeah, DI is not the run-and-hiding type, so when he appears here...he'll do so with some substantive news.
