Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

I’d probably try a full restore, probably even avoiding loading the backup unless you have a bunch of important work on there.

Edit - and now I don’t feel like a dork for still having the film on the touch display.
To be honest, I didn't want to take the film off either but I did because it seemed to get too smudgy.

The Agoura SLO kicks ass (but is a smidge picky about cabs, IMHO). If you need to add or subtract "depth", I'd play with the Z Pre/Post parameter which controls where negative feedback affects the amp circuit.

It's also nice to slather a little "Hype" (maybe 3-4 on the parameter dial) for some multiband compression that gives more "oomph" to it as well.
That's good to know. Between folks on here, and then a friend IRL who just got his Stadium, people seem pretty stoked with the Agoura SLO, so I'm sure I'll be happy.

Yeah, It seems great. I don't see any issues with it personally. I was just pointing out that his criticisms about it don't really make sense. If he doesn't like it, then that's fine. I don't really care.

It is picky about cabs. Finding the right cab has been a challenge. The stock Soldano cab is a bit dark so I've had to test out some others. I currently have it with the 4x12 Mesa cab, but it might be a bit too scooped. I'll probably try out some others when I get a chance. I'm not a high gain player though, so that's certainly a factor.

I guess while we're on the topic, do you have a specific cab that you like with it?

Yep. The combination of 25 W and 30 W Greenback speakers in the "Oldano" factory preset work quite well. I also like the Bogner Uberkab V30 and T75 combo.

Just make sure you're not using condenser microphones on either config. I like a 57/121 combo or a 421/160 combo.
Thanks, I'll give that a shot. My go to is generally a 57/121 or a 57/160. Sometimes a 57/421 works for more modern stuff also. I haven't tested out a 421/160, but will try that out.

I don't dislike Leo, necessarily. He does some interesting content. However, I definitely take things with a grain of salt.

You can change the cab all day, and it'll inform the Amp's SIC. But if you change the amp in a linked pair, the cab will change to its default. That's why it says "Amp > Cab Link", not "Amp < Cab Link" or "Cab > Amp Link."

This is how it works with Amp+Cab blocks in Helix/HX or Amps and Cabs in POD Go when Global Settings > Preferences > Link Amp/Cab is on. (It is by default.)
Do the Agoura amp models update the SIC info if the amp and cab are not linked or do they need to be a linked pair?

The biggest thing I still notice as far as needing to get out the boiling pot is there is a slightly blown out, woofy tone that needs dialed out with a boost up front and sometimes a GEQ block. Other than that; Hype helps in small doses and maybe a Z adjustment. Once they add those controls to the existing pile of amps; I'll be golden. For now. :bag

Why do people dislike Sadites' videos?
How much time have you got? ;)

(I think he's a cool guy, and an amazing player, but his videos are l-o-o-o-o-o-ng. Some people just have that sort of "attention to detail" M.O. I guess.)

(I guess there was also some internet kerfuffle where he locked horns with some YouTube commenters or something, but I mostly missed that chapter.)

Did you try the Eminence Governor speaker on the 4x12 Cartographer cab yet?

V30-esque with its own flavor, to my ears at least.
I tried the C90 iirc? I tried the 1960cab with t75s(?) beyond that. I think I got some ok results with it?

At this point; there are certain things that send me into severe 'timbuk was right" fits. With no rhyme or reason, admittedly? While other things that should trigger the same way do not. It's generally a ME thing.

I have the 1.0 Cali Rectifier and OG 5150 that are probably my favorite amps for the most part. Then I also love the Superbass and the EVH Red channel, which are brand new generally speaking. I have this weird fluctuation where I don't want to use a lot of the 1.0 level stuff because I feel like where we are; we should be using all bright and shiny. Most of the cabinets give me this vibe, mentally. Whether that's wrong or right. On the complete other end of the spectrum; the Orange cab dumped the JT IR so that was a big feat in and of itself.

I don't where I was going with this other than I'm ready for that next FW dump :rofl

Where is timbuk, anyway? I kind of fell off this thread for a little bit, and I'm not sure I didn't skip a few pages catching up. He should have gotten his Stadium by now. Any indication he actually did? Or has it already gone back to the North Pole (because it should have cost $50)?
