I tried poly capo on the OG HELIX and had all kinds of artifacts with 1 semi tone. Had it set to stable too.

I haven't even once experienced a really good pitch shifting algorithm at all, regardless of the maker.
People are going all anal about the last ounces of modeling accuracy and buy guitars for several grands - just to destroy almost everything instantly by using a warbling mess that even introduces horrible latency.

Seems a bit suspicious there are several people reporting the issue today though.

Personally, I never had the problem since purchasing the unit until today - and nothing in my network setup has changed.

Maybe they had some server shenanigans. Lord knows, all sorts happens out there. Thefretboard.co.uk doesn't even have a new forum software, and that was promised 4 years ago now I believe? BTW - Welcome. Maybe we can be a bit cooler with each other over here.

Luckily most of the guys that are relying on it for retuning are playing covers so I don’t have to hear it anyways.
But yeah, poly pitch doesn’t happen without latency. Tangible amounts.

How do I get a good tone out of a Plexi??? Because I keep failing. I want to get an Adam Jones kind of tone. Nice chuggo's and soaring leads. But I just end up with fuzzy wooly bullcack every time.

What do I do with the drive controls??

I play in Drop-B and Drop-C. I guess that might be the issue?

That’s not really in this Plexi IMO.

Go to the SuperBass (MegaBass) in bass amp. Select the bright channel, crank the mids, treble, presence and gain until it starts coming together. Don’t be afraid to run the bass at zero if you have to.

You can select jumped and start blending in the normal channel but you’ll almost certainly have to zero out the bass.

If you use Adam’s settings on a stock SuperBass you’re going to get floppy mud and probably not enough gain. I’m suggesting the SuperBass as a workaround to the Stadium Plexi seeming too polite to pull that off. We really need a 70s spec Superlead for those tones.

If you want to keep trying with the Plexi, drag the sag all the way down to try and simulate the 70s Superlead’s stiffer filtering. There’s a lot of mud in the bass control (on the real amp too) so don’t mind low settings there. There’s def a reason Adam reinforced with bass heavy amps.

I would turn off SAG hum ripple
Bass 4 mids 7 treble 7
Normal gain 3 bright gain 7 or 8 , master about 6
Boost with tube screamer in front
The Normal gain is dark and really adds to the flub
Keep it low and crank the bright volume
Higher wattage speaker like GH30 or Cream Back
See if that works

Shorter latency = more artifacts. Lower pitches can add even more. I’m not sure what’s possible, but even dedicated pedals have (for me) enough latency that I wouldn’t want to use them for anything other than special effects.

Is there a good Angoura amp for clean/acoustic sounds, or is Clarity still the gold standard for that?

One thing I'm running into is that if I swap in Clarity to a preset that has a Jazz Rivet in it (left over from before I discovered the Clarity), I'm getting almost a fuzz sound from the default settings and have to really work to dial that back to something clean and acoustic-sounding. Anyone else running into that?

He runs three amps, so you're missing 66 percent of his tones with just a SuperBass or Plexi.

Yeah I'm aware of that. But whenever I layer up a Plexi style amp with another, like a Diezel or something, I rarely like it.

Actually one of the best tones I ever had was stacking my VH4 with the Crunch Red channel on my Satriani JVM. Roll on proxy hey!!!!

The latency is not caused by calculation time. Do you seriously think the only reason pitch shifters have latency is because the people writing them are not as smart as you?
