And if anyone would like to make fun of me by telling me how easy it is to get that sound... and then tell me how to get that sound... I'm all ears. I have in fact asked ChatGPT or whatever engine is now inescapably lodged into Google Chrome, and it was the same old drivel about how Tony used a Rangemaster treble booster.

Hey everyone! Good news and bad news:
The Good News: Even if you've already sold Helix/HX in anticipation of Stadium, from HX Edit's File menu, select "Extract Files From Backup.” You get all the individual files needed to import backups into Stadium. So... my big point about perhaps needing to send your full-state backups to our CS team was wholly unnecessary.
The Bad News: I'm dumb and had no idea HX Edit did this. <hangs head in shame>
This is what happens when brilliant engineers sneak in helpful features that weren't defined.

But.... a lot of those old studio recordings used some form of double tracking, some pretty heavy reverb in places (the intro), and tracked through some not-so-close mic techniques... etc, and not to be ignored is that Tony was really unique with playing really light strings and probably specific pickups, and his methods of actually playing with his leather? finger tip replacements and whatever.
It's a bit of a rabbit hole that, and he probably doesn't even know how to recreate 'those tones'.

I pretty much live in that rabbit hole LOL.
Double-tracking is definitely a part of it. I think I'm hearing a cocked wah or filter effect mixed in, but I haven't been able to find a balance that sounds convincing. This era of Sabbath is tricky, because there's tons of gain, but there's some studio trickery happening that keeps the guitar from disappearing into the mix.
Any other good news...?
Canadian retailers are pushing units out with people picking them up today in person, so look for more amateur videos and clips in the next however many days?

That's ok. Eventually you'll realize that fighting is pointless. Now, in 5 years, or 10 years ago. Crap music and crap art in general has been with us for decades already.
And at some point you'll discover an AI feature somewhere that will make you think "maybe not everything is bad about this".
Both. Bad news: I'm sure we'll see a new Michael Jackson album made with AI, and people won't even care if it's AI. Good news: I don't think it's crazy to think that the cure for several diseases (cancer, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis...) could come from AI-driven researches.

I was talking exclusively about the AI feature I was suggesting (preset creation from prompt).

Yeah same, been down that hole many a time.
Those Sabbath tones (Tony and Geezer combined) are just too amazing.
I do think a lot of that is in the way he plays that riff, which is absolutely amazing of course.

They already announced that the FX wouldn’t be updated in 1.0 - 1.2. But hopefully after that!

When that Michael Jackson album drops, I won't even care that it's AI. That isn't even a blip on the "shit I call bad news" radar. I'm thinking a few steps further out from there. I agree about the potential for curing diseases however, that is very important potential good news.
