Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Give us Apple's revenue and resources and we'll talk.
LMFAO!

Intel's fab shrink for 18A reportedly cost over 20bn. I suspect you could do quite a bit with 20bn ;).

Also, there is the economy of scale to consider. The PC market can get parts at a fraction of the price that Yamaha can just due to volume (and some pretty shady deals inked many years ago ;) ).

I think you guys are doing pretty good with the hand you were delt.

Interesting. So you think it was a corrupt preset?

I'm having an issue where I have presets created from scratch and presets I have imported from my HX stomp and replaced the amp block with my user default agoura amp. The HX stomp preset is significantly louder despite having the same amp with the same settings. Weird.

I'm thinking I will need to build a scratch preset to replicate the imported preset at the expected volume.
Amps will have different output levels. In fact even comparing the factory presets they are not all the same level.
It could be as simple as that.

I never said I had a corrupt preset, but with so many bugs in the current code, it is difficult to pinpoint where any issues could be or if any were introduced. Perhaps I like to test the limits of devices and why I find more bugs than most. When I first got my device I put a few thousand IRs on it and it struggled from the start. Folders were ignored, some IRs didn't import properly. That is a major problem in itself. My FM9 has 2048 in it plus it has 16 free buffers to test any more in addition. I simply tried to punch all of those into the Stadium.
I have had roughly 10 tickets open and that's just me. I know of many other issues and others that are tracking their own problems.

I vote for the fart pedal as number 2 priority for the next update.
I worked for a couple years for a company that had this voice multieffects for PC, and it was so underwhelming trying to make cool presets, only to see the most valued content in the app was... a farts sample pack😫

But a fart pedal simulation, though...

A feature request I (sort of) put in before but I’m going there again; since I raised it, we’ve had 60 LUFS, 10 global blocks and a fart pedal (forum timescale) so that’s a lot of pages ago.

I love focus view. Can we please have a toggle button on the focus view screen to enable *all parameters* that focus plays with on that device writable to a snapshot? Just one toggle and all parameters turn white to put them in snapshot write mode.

It is possible to use focus with snapshots but it’s not elegant - I’m not sure if this has changed recently with 1.3. I’m still fairly new to the Helix ecosystem and it might be you could always do what I’m describing here but I didn’t realise…..

When I’m making snapshots where I want to use focus to dial in, I have to push turn every dial on the amp (or whatever I’m wanting to control) so each parameter turns white. I can then drag the snapshot lens around the screen and save each place I’m wanting as a snapshot. So this is the current workaround to use focus to make snapshots - I love it….. Because this is so incredibly useful, the feature request is ‘please just put a toggle switch in focus so I don’t have to fart about push-turning each knob - just a software toggle switch on screen and all parameters turn white to allow snapshot edits’

I tried to be a smart arse by saving a template after I’d push-turned each of my amp knobs but it wouldn’t play ball….. it didn’t save the fact that I’d push-turned all the knobs within the template.

I like this idea.

Always visible tuner display would be very nice too.

And fwiw, if you think that's "video game elevator music from the 90s" - well, then I can't help it.
What about video game elevator music from 2003?

One of my favorite projects was the score for Postal 2. You can actually finish the entire game without firing a single shot or hurting anybody, but it takes forever because you have to wait in long lines at the store, at the bank, at the clinic, at the mall, etc. So we made a ton of cheesy annoying elevator music that seamlessly loops every 90 seconds or so and never stops until you enter a different area. The audio engine couldn't generate realistic ambience at the time, so we visited Running With Scissors (the dev, based in Tucson) and played the levels to get an idea of what kind of space each location was in (or in one case, muffled metal music heard from outside a trailer). We ended up baking appropriate reverb and broken speakers into the music itself, so they were even more annoying. It totally pushes you into, ahem, going postal. IIRC, all tracks were cranked out over a weekend.

They never ended up paying us but at least it was fun. And Gary Coleman recorded voiceovers at my house.
Does the Stadium have Global Fart Blocks?
Not at launch.
