I haven't played it in years but my wife still plays it all the time. She's modded the hell out of it.

Yeah exactly, and I will ignore it, just as I ignore Badonk etc. But there is a difference between features that I think are good, but I have no need for and therefore ignore, and features that I think are a gimmick. I don't mind eating my words, but a hype knob would not be my preference to achieve sounds beyond what the stock model is capable of.

If a modeller came along and offered "MIX READY IR's" as a new feature, I'd similarly just try to remove them from the device and go for the cab engine with moveable mics. Others might prefer a gimmick that changes the sound in an unpredictable way but it's not really what I'm looking for.

It's not an issue either, it's just simply not for me at all. It's totally in the opposite direction of what Im looking for. I'd rather it wasn't there, but if I have to ignore it, thats fine too.

I was thinking about the Stadium today and I remembered a comment about how Agora is actually going to make modeling amps quicker and easier for your team. With that in mind, is something like switching out tube types, resistor and cap values something that could be implemented, or is that an idea that's been thrown around the office? Like if people could change all the values in an amp it would be like a build your own custom amp block, that would be pretty sick! Am I way out in left field, outside the boundaries of reality here?

I’m pretty high but I just watched the Focus Zones video and I’m getting pretty hyped about the Stadium. (And, no, I’m not trying to continue the thread on the Hype control.)

That shit with the Vox was frictionless, and the different zones all sounded nice to me (listening through my phone speakers and in a green haze).

I feel like this has the potential to be my favorite piece of gear, ever.

What would be a great future addition (in my opinion)? Many fuzz pedals are dead simple with a handful of components. Agoura models of those should be quick and easy compared with doing an Agoura tube amp with multiple channels….. Would that be a reasonable thing to do at some point? That combined with the component swap would be fun - The ability to swap out transistors in an Analogman Sunface direction would be neat. Yesterday’s tube rollers are now waxing lyrical about BC108’s that I used to regularly blow up as they were cheap as chips back when I was studying the things in college :)

I’m all for modding amps digitally, but a magic one knob control that does different things to different amps isn’t how I’d prefer it done.

To use the sushi analogy. Something like hype is like putting ketchup on sushi. Some might like what it does, and who knows, maybe in some instances it might surprise me in a good way. But good sushi doesn’t need extra.
