I've been working on singing/playing this tune at the same time, I hit a wall with it and figured recording it would help ingrain some stuff in my head better. This tune is what made me want to really learn how to scream and I had to chuckle last night after knocking out the vocal in one take just because all the years spent trying to figure out how to get that delivery/sound and completely failing and now it's as easy as breathing.

Guitars were a bitch, though! I used the isolated bass/drum tracks off YouTube. Mark IV from the AxeFX on both sides, used the Edwards and Orville LP's and different cabs for each side.

I missed this yesterday. Sounds great! \m/ That just shy of pinch harmonic pinch harmonic is one of the most annoying things to do I think ever.

Hahahahahha yeah, I can chalk that up to being sick of too many takes and not wanting to dick around with EQ after. The initial tone I was using worked great for the pinch harmonics, but was too bright in the mix so I rolled it back and cut off a fair amount of PH’s in the process.

Funnily, it’s the damn EMG’s that I have the hardest time nailing them with. That Aldrich pickup in the Orville practically makes pinch harmonics on it’s own and throws them off the neck, the EMG’s are all like “Yeah, Zakk Wylde doesn’t have a problem, shut up, bitch”

Oh I wasn't judging you at all! I can do them on-borderline-accident all day long but the consistency of which they do them in this song is NUTS!

Both those dudes had a major hard on for writing tricky ass riffs in the early days, which is precisely why this is pretty much the only LoG tune I know how to play. :rofl

Damn Drew, that is an absolutely stellar production man!! Fuck yeah! Great job on the song too of course! No recording techniques can make shit tight, that doesn't start with your hands. Awesome! :beer :beer :beer :beer

Good gawd, dude! You sound better than they sound! I know, I've seen them live, tehehe.

Laid to rest, indeed! :beer

Nice f'in snarl, too. Sheesh.

I’ve seen them so many times now I can’t count, they’re a remarkably consistent live band, almost to the point of being the CD played really loud, but man they still deliver!!
