King Buzzo !

Howdy all, Been listening to a lot of Grunge of late a lot of Melvins
So I'm thinking id like to add Honey Bucket to my List of Songs/Covers id like to do
From What I gathered King Buzzo used a Les Paul, into a Sunn Amp and to Distortion pedals in front
a Rat and Interestingly enough a Boss Bass Overdrive, not sure in what order though
Has anyone ever used a Bass OD/Distortion For guitar use ?
The Helix has a Pretty good rated one the Ampeg Scrambler
