Yeah no thanks :)
Sounds like Jim is the expert when it comes to VH tones. I like the direction IK is going with these capture packs.I bought the 78/79 pack. They sound cool. I think it's worth it to support Jim and all his hard work that he shares with us. Any discrepancies can be made up for by releasing an '80/'81/'84 pack as well.

"Ouch" for the Kemper. The others might be servicable with some tweaks, the Kemper fails quite hard here.
The process to this day has not changed.
You're hard pressed to find anything from JCM800 onward that isnt cascading gain stages with 3 to 5 stages.I don't know if Michael is using cascading gain stages / pre's in his Mesa Rack (?) but since Day 1 through to today, the Kemper is *terrible* at Profiling Amps with more than 1 Preamp stage -or- a single Preamp Stage with a drive in front of it..
Its also *terrible* at profiling cranked Amps where the Pre-Stage -and- the Power Stage are both "overdriving" - it simply has no idea or awareness on how to tell the difference and process more than 1 gain stage.
Take a Matchless DC 30 or Vox ...... as soon as the Amp is opened up so both stages are cooking, the Profiles sound like crap - keep the Amps so the Power stage is not playing much of a part in the tone and it will sound fine.
Back in the Day when I first got my Kemper I profiled my Ceriatone DC30 many times. As soon as I pulled the MV out and cranked it - it sounded -glorious- in person, but a total mess when profiled. The process to this day has not changed.
Generally speaking; this x 1000.Michael also states in a comment below the video that Kemper sucks at Mesa and excels at Marshall dirt.
Also keep in mind, for Kemper there is a refinement process that takes manual intervention by the one doing the profile, and not sure how much time Michael spent for that. On top of that, there is the liquid profile option on Kemper, and IMO the LPs do have an edge when tweaking a little.
