IK Multimedia Group Buy 2025

How many Jam Points does it earn you? I mean, the Tonex One is €237.99 in the IK shop, €165 at Thomann (both including tax).
You get 5% of the MSRP price in Jam Points. You get them when you register your hardware so you can still get them if you purchase through their authorized resellers.

However to redeem the points for hardware (or software), you need to purchase from IK direct. I already had some Jam Points stashed so got a good discount on the Tone X One.

So, I definitely take back what I had previously said about the Brown 78/79. I am definitely finding some gems in here, and luckily IK included the "Favorite" functionality, which allows me to run through and select what fits me. I have to get away from the mindset that I need to like everything, with captures. That's just silly and never going to be the case.

It's messy with the capture naming, but going through them I also did the same with "favourites". Great stuff to be found in there if you dig.

Just curious if you’re playing those patches with something Van Halen-esque like a superstrat? I’m wondering how those caps translate to LPs and the like.

I mostly use a superstrat, but it's not like my Les Paul style guitar sounds much different. To me ears both guitars sound great with the brown sound packs.

I'm actually in a "shiny new toy" phase with my PRS SE DGT

Are you happy with it? I'm seriously considering one at some point as (astonishingly enough, because I never thought it'd happen) could do with a sorta LP-ish guitar but still want a whammy bar (I have a decent Epiphone LP that sees zero live playing time because of no whammy and the god awful LP shape). Everything I heard so far about it is just positive.

I love mine now, though I did replace the nut, the tuners and had to do a fret level :)
Also it's a got a super chunky neck though (in case that's not your cup of tea).

I love it. I added PRS SE Locking tuners because I’m lazy, and Duncan Pearly Gates because I needed a guitar-excuse to buy Pearly Gates.

Yeah, the nut/level thing is largely specimen-dependent, which is normal for an import. Mine seems fine though, just a light level.

While the neck is thicker, it’s still not as thick as the McCarty 594! That’s a thick chick.

Just registered the MODO Bass 2 plugin I recently grabbed on sale from a 3rd party and got full retail credit for it with the Group Buy. Super excited about all the ToneX packs I picked up! Everyone go buy more things so we can get more plugins :rofl

Uhm. I'm not able to do any of that myself (well, I sort of am, but not enough to risk it on a new guitar).

That's absolutely fine with me. I got pretty big hands.

I'd add locking tuners as well. As far as the pickups are concerned, I always thought they sounded quite great - what was your reason for exchanging them?

Totally nothing wrong with stock. I just kinda fell in love with a particular PRS SE Custom 24 we got in used awhile back, that had Pearly Gates in it. So this guitar was an excuse to buy it and get a set.

149.99+ should be free shipping
It's not when I look at the basket...add to that the chance of import charges etc it's not looking good value to buy just get one from Anderton's for £149 and £2.99 delivery, or Amazon for £132 free delivery.

Can you confirm if I go one of those routes if it qualifies for the group Buy one I register it?

You need to buy from a certified reseller, though.

When I ordered my Tonex One directly from IK back in September '24, I didn't get free shipping (I paid €20). And since IK doesn’t remove EU/Italian VAT when exporting from the EU to Norway (where I live), I had to pay both EU/Italian and Norwegian VAT. So even after using JamPoints, I would have been better off buying locally (or from someone internationally like Thomann, who doesn’t make me pay VAT twice) at full price.

That said, IK has been clear that purchases from authorized dealers do qualify for this group buy. I'm considering picking up another Tonex One—but I’ll never order directly from IK again, at least not until they start removing EU VAT for non-EU customers.

I’m still on the fence about joining this group buy, though, since as a current Total Studio 5 MAX and Brown Sound 78/79 owner, it looks like the only eligible software I don’t already have is the two other Brown Sound collections and the ENGL Ampthology Volume 1.

(Neither ReSing nor the Tonex Bass collection are eligible.)
