These statements give us an out to procrastinate.

I’ve been reading this lol.One of the biggest changes I made in the last year was with things specifically like that. I had a crazy period of having no motivation to do anything and I can’t remember where I heard it, but it was something along the lines of “What makes you think your future self is going to be any more motivated to perform your tasks than you are right now?” and I had zero argument for it. Hahahah not after being unmotivated for that long.
It puts you in the exact moment where you have to either admit to yourself you’re being lazy and/or dishonest, or do what you said you’re going to do and it’s just easier to do it right then while it’s on your mind than putting it off. Another thing I started doing was when I’d feel resistance to doing something, I’d force myself to start doing it but give myself the out of “If I can think of one legitimate reason to not do this by the time my hand is on it, I don’t have to do it”…..there’s never a legitimate reason, it just makes you identify the procrastination.

Thanks! Once I settled on a great starting word it got a bit easier. I recently changed it to "hard mode" which forces you to use the clues you have. I didn't do it to make it harder though. I did it to keep me from making bonehead mistakes because that was happening too often at first lol.I knew that.
What I find most impressive of all is how few times it took you six - less than 5% of the time.
That's amazing. Kudos sir!
Thanks for posting that! The subtitle inspired me to write this song!! Going to record a basic track now, but here are the lyrics!!!I’ve been reading this lol.

Get Out Of Your Head - Copyright January 1, 2024 - ANO Publishing, LLC - All Rights Reserved
<Verse 1>
Are you livin' in the grey
With no black or white
Sittin' on a fence
With no clear in sight
Blowin' hot and cold
About the if's and why's
Sellin' short your soul
With indecision cries
<Chorus>
Get out of your head
And into your life
Cut your world
Into a perfect slice
Get out of your mind
And into each day
Surely you will find
It's how you gotta play
<Verse 2>
You waver in the wind
The answers never heard
Indecisive status
Just swirling words
No axe to grind
Gives you idle hands
Instead of taking the time
To build your promised land
<Chorus>
Get out of your head
And into your life
Cut your world
Into a perfect slice
Get out of your mind
And into each day
Surely you will find
It's how you need to play
<Bridge>
Build your world
Around your dreams
Never let perception
Cut the seams
Of the suit
Tailored for you
Fashion your life
With your mental tools
<Verse 3>
You waffle through years
But all the syrups gone
You let your growing fears
Trash your front lawn
Time to cut the grass
Evict the doubters squat
Time for only your dreams
And no second thoughts
<Outro>
Get out of your head
And into your life
Cut your world
Into a perfect slice
Get out of your mind
And into each day
Surely you will find
It's how you gonna play
Get out of that dreary
Faded land
Escape to the journey
Where your dreams can
Build a heaven
Of your own design
Dance to the beat
That your dreams define

Dragging vs scrolling are rarely happening at the same time. Multitouch is one solution if both need to happen at once, but not often utilized because it works best on a tablet size device. Otherwise "user held their finger for x ms over this draggable object -> initiate drag n' drop" is the standard way to do it. I consider it a pretty solved problem.
