Helix Talk

I'd love to see a super Line6 HXFX.

Now, hear me out...

That's what I have in mind. Basically a bigger Helix remote with an HXFX (or an Helix) in rack format made for routing pedals and controlling amps. Remove aes ebu, word clock, variax input, mic input and add more fx loops and amp control outs.

Extra (expensive) bonus would be analog path for dry signal and analog (but digitally controlled) fx matrix.

I know, I know....

The weirdest thing just happened, all my User Defaults for every model in Helix Native were wiped out, not very happy about that, everything else is in order.

Edit: There is no option in Native to backup user defaults as far as I can see, if something goes wrong with it, that's it.
Nothing else changed, only the user default were magically vanished, I am baffled. :wat

I don't see an option to backup or restore user defaults in Helix Native.
I had all the amps, preamps, and cabs volume matched with sm57 and many effects with my settings, no big deal I'll start over.
Maybe it will be useful to add user defaults backup option in Native too?

Found the file where Native saves user defaults, it's called "#UMDStore" located in "AppData\Roaming\Line 6\Helix Native", this file grows every time I save a user default of each model, I'm just going to make a copy of that after I make all the changes.

During a restore process, you should be able to choose which portions of the backup you wish to restore—Presets, individual setlists, IRs, global settings, favorites, and/or user defaults. A backup backs up all of these every time.

It’s something we added back when user defaults and favorites were added.

Not in front of HX Edit, otherwise I’d step-by-step it out.

Thanks DI, yes I know how to do it in HX Edit, but I said NATIVE in every post.
My user defaults were wiped out from Native which are stored in the mentioned file, there is no option to backup user defaults in Native.
Everything is alright now, I manually restored most of my defaults.

Edit:
I have a small theory how that might happen.
When Helix Native is loaded it reads the #UMDStore file with all the user defaults, if for some reason Native fails to read this file is will create a new file completely blank over it if you save any new user default.
I think that's what happened to me, and I think it is very rare, probably due to my antivirus glitching and preventing Native from reading the file.
