tbh, that’s one of the reasons I kinda like the QC. I have different boxes when I want accuracy.
I think I view gear that I know / expect to be really accurate to their source material differently than gear that I expect to be different in some ways. I expect the QC is guilty of some of the tricks that I vaguely recall DI mentioning at TOP - hyping the low end, smoothing the highs, adding compression, etc.
But when I’m expecting the “poetic license,” I can turn my brain off a bit and just fucking chug without wondering how closely this matches a physical amp.
I think it’s just a niche manifestation of my OCD.
