Helix Talk

Twist:

It's a live stream of the Line 6 team unboxing random deep cuts that they never knew Yamaha made (not just motorcycles and pianos).

Why should I watch a live stream if the initiator of the stream keeps telling me that it is a waste of time to watch it because there is simply no interesting content to expect?
I mean, it'll be a total waste of time for most people. My parents are in their 70s and they'll likely get nothing out of it. The refrigerator repair guy I just got off the phone with? Yeah, he won't find it interesting at all. All the neighbors I see while walking the dogs? Zero incentive for me to invite them to watch the livestream.

Might anyone on this forum, however, find any ensuing drama (or lack thereof) the slightest bit bemusing? Unlikely to likely.

Is there a risk of "That's it? They're not announcing anything of interest? I watched this stupid thing for almost an hour and it was just a bunch of self-congratulatory marketing BS while YouTube goofballs ate Mexican food and drank margaritas?" Greater than zero.

In the end, the June 11 event isn't for Joe Schmo on Gear Forums R Us; it's for our people, both internally and in our various communities. As always, everyone's welcome to instead, go outside and touch grass. It's not like I get paid extra if more people watch the livestream.:satan

Don’t mind me, I’m just padding the post count.

80k, here we come!
Forum owners once the thread reaches 80K:

Well you could if you just set up a Patreon/OnlyFans account beforehand!

xxxPickleEnthusiast69 sent $100 with the message: "Can you get Eric to wear a tighter shirt, lol?"
If I do not get to see Chris Sarga in a flourecent pink shirt slow dancing with his matching pink helix It’s a missed marketing opportunity for sure and I will be disappoint 😢

We have already seen him in bed with Helix , PDA is just the next logical step

I haven’t been following this stuff long enough to know… has Mr. Igloo ever insisted nothing new was coming, and then pulled a gotcha at the last second and dropped a new product?

I get that they would be tight lipped about new product launches, but I imagine that looks more like silence, not necessarily scheduling an event and then adamantly stating nothing new is coming when it actually is.

Just trying to figure how much of my work day next Wednesday should be spent watching line 6 sip margaritas.

All of your work day.

This is so fuckin' Yamaha. In the 2nd video there's like all those cool and unique models and it's like "this was just a prototype".

They never put any of the truly cool stuff out.
I don't disagree. Got to tour the same warehouse Paul did, and every two minutes was all "Wha?! Why didn't this get released?!"

Yeah, watching those videos I saw several guitars that would easily sell.
  • That Pacifica with 2x P90 + P90 looking humbucker.
  • The green flame top Pacifica with an inlaid pickguard.
  • The blue/green 2019 prototype with a fairly modern look.
  • The Tele style Revstar prototype.
