Helix Talk

There's gonna be a "special development presentation", though. Obviously, that could be pretty much anything, given Yamaha has a broadband product portfolio.

I think this is the only shred of hope we have that D.I has something up his sleeve ... a bit like a Steve Jobs "one more thing" ..... but he has been so insistent and definite at quelling any comments or hopes that it makes me think it will be a historical, "this is the story about how we got to 10 years after launch" :(

If I'm wrong, its the best, most secured, locked-down "announcement" in a looooong time

He has been consistent in using HX/Helix terminology when he says that though :wat That's what gets me lol. "I told y'all!" meme about not announcing a new Helix product lol

If they ever make a full power version of the Helix with plenty of switches and no expression pedal, I'll probably buy it. But I'll still call it the Helix, because my mind cannot do that hip, Silicon Valley "no definite article, like it's a person or a concept or a language or France" naming thing for any inanimate physical item.

I want a four-button touch screen HX Stomp 2 Electric Boogaloo, with the switching as flexible as Fractal's.

A new sku within the Helix/HX family but placed above the current Helix Floor/Rack and not calling it Helix II might be an option...somenthing with more dsp, routing options, available blocks in a smaller, lighter enclosure, with no less that 10 switches...that would be tasty

I'd call it Hell-ix

There's precedent. The HD500X had a little more juice. They didn't make a big deal of it, as it was just a "MkII" kind of thing.........

Judging by the thumbnail of the live stream, they are clearly hiding something drum kit shaped.

So, it'll be a Helix v2, but the only new thing will be a drum machine update.
v1 users will be able to use it too, provided they connect devices to a pc / mac.

I WOULD love a solid ass drum machine to be available in a modeler with different drum presets and the ability to import midi.
