Helix 3.7: The Freeman Update

Ahh reading the release notes...nonlinear reverb can be used as reverse reverb. Some TOPers will be happy.
So ridiculous how few of these are available in the plugin world. For decades getting a decent gated reverb in plugins has been futile and pretty much had to be attempted with convo reverbs. Even Eventide stubbornly refused to put their own nonlinear algos into their H3000 style plugs

Just read through the release notes. Wow. Killer update. They added the Nobels that so many have been requesting, too.

I also looked through the list of bugfixes and it’s clear that Line 6 has been listening. And they even added a time-delay parameter that you can enable or disable to reproduce the phase offset you get with mic distance to the cabs. That’s a pretty obscure one that only a handful of people were making noise about, but it’s nice to see.

As someone who had a Fractal for 3 weeks, I’m qualified to say this: Line 6’s stock cabs trounce Fractal’s DynaCabs. Line 6 has more variety, way more mics, and a 45-degree off axis option for every mic and position, which Fractal doesn’t have at all.

goddamnit, just read them too. I need another Stomp. It's like Cliff and Line 6 are going "Hold my beer. No, you hold my beer. No YOU hold my beer. No YOU hold my beer. Screw it; Neural can hold our beers."

Stomp sellers punching air right now

This is why you never sell it

I just need to add:

Unlike other modeling platforms, Line 6 actually gives a shit about us bass players.
Yeah was just listening to a British podcast this morning, and the one guy (who’s primarily a bassist and works for Ashdown) says that the Stomp has invaded bassists’ pedalboards, as he was looking at pedalboards on tour of Europe.

At this point, Helix has to be the most complete and feature-rich modeling platform on the planet. The number of amps, cabs, real-world pedals, rack gear, and everything else stuffed into that box outnumbers even Fractal’s offerings. The UI and ease of customization is in a league of its own. And with each update, it only gets better. :chef
