IIRC from DI posts on TGP Phil's has a different status, much closer to internal tester than a last-step beta tester.
He also tests pre-release hardware and has been a Line 6 tester since HD days if not earlier.

Hey Rewolf !

I was on the 3.15 Beta Team but didn't get an invite for 3.20 ....... I'm guessing "too much complaining about FW update timeframes" didn't help my cause :)

Of course, they could also just be rotating-around the multiple beta testers they have access too... but I've got a sneaking suspicion it was the former for me :)

While I suppose this probably isn't something we're gonna see in 3.2, I still can't stop daydreaming about how crazy it'd be if parameter values could be assigned to an input trigger/LFO in the same manner we can tie them to an EXP pedal/jack.

Same. I’m not complaining. My Helixes need to be on release firmware. Beta testing isn’t as fun as some may think. I was also in that same program that Phil is but I left because I prefer not to know how the sausage is made. Playing is far more fun.

In fact, to me…
- couple = 2
- few = 3
- several = 4 or more



At any rate, if he said “a few more weeks,” then we may be looking at early October. Whenever it is, it sounds close.

DI only recently said that it was feature complete - that just means that it is possible to use the features without everything falling to pieces. Getting that stable enough for the wider beta test could take many weeks.

I know that a few people have said that they didn't think that they have been invited to test 3.2, but I suspect that wide audience beta testing has just not yet started ...

Ooh - then Phil’s definition of “a few weeks” is actually “several / many.” I haven’t been tracking, but if they aren’t in beta testing, then yeah, they aren’t too close…

Four, a foursome, a band, a gang, a group, now that's a month if we're talking weeks.

There are two kinds of beta testers that are publicly talked about, internal testers, and public testers. Phil, obviously of the former, (love the guy) has been posting as the L6 Hype Man for the past few years, so of course he's going to follow suit.

Beta testing is cool but it's work and can be a PITA if you rely on your devices for other work.

Personally I'm not itching for the drop but excited to see where they're going.

What I want to know is, what exactly do they mean about redoing that comparison? I have a full Floor and an XL, and I know the limitations/differences between the two, but if that line is getting blurred . . . I am excite.

Line 6 and co are leak-tight about this update, so we see every drop like it was a desert oasis.

We do now have a target release date (which we've never ever ever hit in the History of the World). Phil's a good friend of ours and he does get *some* inside info but "a few more weeks" is reaaally optimistic (depending on your definition of "a few more weeks" of course).

At the risk of squashing enthusiasm, 3.20 contains no notable changes to the Amp models that might affect feel.
