Headrush Flex Prime

It's a little silly how everyone on these parts feel the need to take a giant dump on HR whenever they release something yet Fractal, Tonex and Line 6 can seemingly do nothing wrong. Even Neural, who started a giant dumpster fire when they launched Quad Cortex, get less sh!t around here than HR does.

I get it: HR is "old tech", Revalver is "old tech", their amp cloning isn't as good as the other brands', yadda yadda. All I know is, I have both a Line 6 HX Stomp (fantastic device) and a Headrush Pedalboard and I would much rather dial in a tone on the Pedalboard than on the Stomp, the interface is just that much better. The feature set is not as great as the Line 6 products but the ones that are there are infinitely easier to get at and also just the ones that I need, nothing more.

So can we maybe stick to talking about the actual product instead of just dumping all over the manufacturer? I asked a genuine question about the purpose of the Fractal VP4 when it came out and was practically lynched for questioning the decisions of our Great Lord, Cliff of the Fractal. But then a Headrush product comes out and we're all about burying the product before we even know what it is...

Geez, this elitist fanboy-ism is precisely the reason I left TOP.
They’re like one step up from being a GC house brand, but the real thing here is: don’t have feeling about gear. Nothing to be upset about that way. I know exactly two HR players right now. One loves the thing and it sounds . . . fine. The interface and the look sells it for them. The other has gone through two gig boards and three MX5s before getting something that didn’t develop major hardware issues within a month or two and they’re sticking with it because they know it. There have been more than a few beta testers for HR in the last couple months shitting in the brand because they have no interest in making a better product, just new products with better margins.

Anyone know the latency on the Revalver Cloning/SuperCloning? I seem to
recall that the latency measured on the Prime using the Cloningh/Capture
feature was NOT that great. Is this the same tech, or different tech/improved tech? :idk

Found the thread with the Headrush Prime latency measurements. For reference on the Cloning. :idk

Sounds right.

Sure it's on their HR forum....but it's private and you have to join to see anything.

There are some very detail oriented beta testers that test all that stuff there.

Honestly, I am clueless about it. I do know the latency measurements done by @Jim Roseberry
when the Prime came out were less than ideal. :idk

Curious how this feature on the Flex is different..... or the exactly same.

Sounds like liquid profiling from Kemper to me...or am I wrong?
It sounds like it but I think it is something else - I think in the superclone model there are several “clones” made with interpolation between knob settings as opposed to slapping a tonestack on a profile which is what the liquid profiles are doing. May be similar effect but different concept and one may be more accurate than the other method (I think liquid profiling works very well). Superclones are probably more analogous to how ndsp generates their models albeit with dozens or even hundreds of more captures to produce an accurately tweakable model.

I think the ”take a poo” at the brands is quite evenly pooed around here compared to other poo forums. Maybe fractal gets a better ass wiping treatment than other brands here. But there’s pooing on fractal to, impressively by fractal users around here that really likes Fractal. So while HR might get slightly more poo… I think we should be positive about the fair amount of evenly distributed poo on this forum.
And I like that we can poo on brands here yet have fun discussions about the poo. And poo with their reps to. The reps seem to take our pooing pretty well. If you poop in the wrong place on tgp… the forums members will jump over you. We don’t do that here I believe. We embrace each others poo. And we should. After all. Most of the discussions we have is actually poo compared to actuall guitar playing.

You all are poo!!!!

I stand on the side of cutting through the bullshit marketing and helping consumers make truly informed decisions about their hardware choices.....if I'm wrong for that...as a HR user .... oh well.

I cannot stand companies taking their customers for granted....and then expecting them to be ok with more of the same.

HR is an IP farm....that buys old algos.....and repurposes them on cheap hardware that can run those old algos easily.

This is just squeezing the last bit of juice from the lemon....sour and all.... Skin and all.

They're the opposite of innovation, they are actually what is wrong with the world.....imo.

This is all said without emotion...to be clear.

Edit ---- Would also add...this conversation would have been deleted on their forum...and so would any dissenting account.
