Fractal Talk

But setting it to a value of 10k gets to a fuzz face model that works pretty darn close to a real fuzz face
I find it interesting that there is no 10k option after reading this quote from Cliff. I have been using a cable now out of curiosity and the auto impedance sets itself to 22k when I have the Fuzz Face turned on after the input block. Still sounds good.

Ohhh yeah found 51 more blocks for free or add a price / tip for axefx3/fm9/fm3 :D

Finally got around messing with the looper tonight and added it to my jazz preset.

However I wish Cliff and gang would make another one similar to shuffling looper in helix.

Add some octave/pitch options that can be modulated with lfo's and modifiers and what not, throw in a simple harmony option as well with the same options and make play back be able to go forward and reverse etc..

The tools are already in there!

The thread on the Fractal forum about the Axe-FX III surviving a drone strike has disappeared. Anyone know anything more about that?

That is disheartening :(

Even though wars are started by politicians, condemning war and advocating for peace is not a political thing. It is a natural expression of humanity. A sign of a kind heart.

Only warmongers censorship condemnations of war. Like it has happened in Russia, where all the voices against the war have been silenced with punishment and incarceration.

Music is a way to bypass censorship and express anti-war sentiments.

Those are mine... they're basically blocks taken from the presets I've shared on Gumroad and on my website. But those were created last year so some settings will be "outdated" (e.g. compressors after the last firmware, or plate reverbs). I'll update them as I have a bit of time.
Hope you enjoy them anyway ;)

I'm not sure i want to keep my vp4 connected via spdif with my fm9. What i want is for zoia and vp4 to go in its own fx loop on fm9 so that i can use it with a normal guitar anytime, and with my gk-5 pickup and boss vg-800/gm-800 setup anytime etc..

Right now I have gk-5 pickup on guitar with serial cable going into boss vg-800, vg-800 stereo out into stereo in on boss gm-800 (serial cable out of vg to serial in on gm), gm-800 stereo out going into stereo in on empress zoia, zoia stereo out going into fm9 fx loop. Then I have vp4 hooked up with spdif

----------------------------------

But what I want is gk-5 pickup on guitar with serial cable going into boss vg-800, vg-800 stereo out into stereo in on boss gm-800 (serial cable out of vg to serial in on gm), gm-800 stereo into fm9. I can do that no problem right now....

However this next part, how can I do it?

Empress Zoia stereo in, then zoia stereo out into stereo in on vp4, and stereo out of vp4 into fm9. I have no guitar to plug into the stereo in on zoia to get this going?

Do I need a patch bay then? Will that allow me to patch stereo in and out from zoia into the patch bay and the same with vp4, and then run out of the patch bay into fm9?

Thanks very much for your thoughtfulness. I got too emotional to find the right wording, but you expressed the feeling much better.

My concern is that you hear apologists for fascism casually asserting the same playbook as Nazis did in the '30s. When I was growing up, no one would tolerate that in polite conversation, but now it's become mainstream serious discussion, with deference to both sides, and that is deeply frightening.

Last night my wife and I were watching the 1943 film Hangmen Also Die!, by Fritz Lang, a depiction of Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, and the methods portrayed are just a few steps from what we're experiencing today.

I've read so much politics on this forum I'll indulge myself with the same birth others have been granted here. This forum and the Fractal Forum are the only social media with which I interact in this way, where I even care about adding at all to conversations. As much as I love having the flagship Fractal product and feeling it truly is the best of the best, as much niche information as I've learned and tried my best to repay there, I'm certainly not married to the Fractal Forum. I lurked there for a long time before joining, and even as a lurker I saw it as disproportionately filled with assholes; on the other hand, it's still a great wellspring of specialized knowledge, and for all the dickheads, I've had a great many interactions with people who act thoughtfully and decently.

There may be something I'm missing, which is my sincere hope, but the only logic I can find for that thread being deleted is that the mods either do not respect the victims of the war crimes or worse, that they are acting as apologists for them: There were, I believe two members who were implying pro-Putin sentiment, but rather than publicly censoring just that disgusting rhetoric, the entire thread is gone, making equivocal the overwhelming well wishing and those few pieces of shit who would both-sides the worst of humanity.

These are just gear forums, but there's a level of basic fucking humanity that you've got to respect in any context. I agree that no unrelated forum should get into meat and potatoes policy arguments as if this were Twitter, but a fellow Fractal user is literally the victim of a fucking war crime. If that doesn't transcend the idea of political debate, where does basic respect for humanity itself lie?

Man, I think I struggled with my Fractal tones for the first time in.... forever.

Maybe it was the humidity. Or lack thereof.

I used to get that nagging harsh and brittle high frequency content whenever
I dove into the digital realm. Never had an issue with it when using my Fractal,
and then the perception crept into my head last night when we were practicing
and I couldn't get past it. I still had fun and powered through. Just was not
loving/vibing with the tone.

I have to wonder if using the Engl E530 and Fryette GPDI/IR at home for the
past bit has retrained my ears. Weird.

Not hung up or paralyzed by what happened. Just a bit out of the norm as I was
experiencing those thoughts for the first time while playing through a Fractal device.

Must need some new firmware!!! :rofl
