100% when I saw that I was like you know Timothy would have played an excellent Tommy Lee if they had made it back then when he was younger
Yes he was in Die Hard 4 I believe , he was good in that tooBeen a huge fan of Olyphant ever since Scream 2.
Feel free to chime in on your thoughts and impressions Axe-FX owners/users.
MY saliva glands are all loaded and ready to go.
Not touching the beta though
He was good in Deadwood and in Justified (also known as ‘Who wouldn’t Raylan shoot?’)Been a huge fan of Olyphant ever since Scream 2.
Now we just need to hear those clipsAfter making a little clip to compare and then messing with all the settings I realized I'm the last person in the world to make these kind of comparisons. I think I've been playing through an amp too much lately to be able to tell anything of note. That said, after tweaking my JCM800 and Mark IV presets, I did say to myself, "Goddamn this thing sounds great", I thought I was getting a little "Uhhh I really love amps again" but nah.
Good timing I suppose, I was making pretty big changes to all my presets anyway on account of the not-so-new monitors. Another reason why it's pointless for me to compare, my ears are still hearing things a bit differently.
I don't think anyone is going to have to do a ton of tweaking to get back to where they were or improve on where they were. I'd imagine anyone using power amp distortion for anything will have the majority of tweaking to do.
Well I've got a patch that I've been mostly playing recently - It's a High Powered Tweed Twin on one side and Super Reverb on the other. I made a backup copy and reset the amp blocks and then switched between the two versions.
I really prefer the new firmware version. High end is sweet, maybe smoother (not harsh); clear and open. The rest is hard to put a finger on...
richer and fuller and more nuanced in terms of dynamics perhaps?
Confirmation bias be damned!
I didn't expect it, but there's a noticeable difference.
I played around with a couple of other patches and all of them needed to be preset levelled, BTW.
Now we just need to hear those clips
So I'm a guessing there was no signature pick toss ?It definitely wouldn’t serve as a good comparison. It was a “grab a guitar and record this idea quick’ thing that is so sloppy it’d distract from any tonal observations.
@holoholo The new modeling engine is called Cygnus X-3.
I'm deep into that cosmology shit.Thank you. I had no idea what I was looking at.
Like others mentioned I can't quite put my finger on why it's better
