Fractal Talk

Arghhh this fc-6 thing is frustrating.

Finally reset my fm9 footswitches back to original because every time i keep messing with the fc-6 edit in fm9 editor it keeps changing things on fm9 even though i have drop box set for fc-6 and button clicked and highlighted for fc-6 and not fm9 etc..

I go get things 80% figured out and then suddenly it changes something on my fm9 again and i get all messed up and have to set it back to stock and try it all again....
Look at FC-EDIT and the devices tab to show what layout is showing on what footswitch.

Okay, I fucked up my FM9's settings somehow, when I was jacking with reamping (for ToneX; don't get me started on that turdball either). Now, whenever I record in Logic, I get the direct signal of course, I get the drums (and whatever else) playback, but I also get the direct modeled signal back on whatever track I'm on, even with monitoring on that track disabled. WTF am I doing wrong here?

What is up with shipping companies :cuss

it's definitely getting worse and worse.

USPS lost my korg nts-3 back in jan/feb and ebay and paypal wouldn't do anything either because tracking showed delivered even though i had proof from usps saying it was delivered but to a different address which they couldn't provide due to safety rules or some crap etc.

Man @Alex Kenivel i hope it shows up soon for you! :(

Whenever I'm trying to avoid hearing the raw signal, I use Output 2 in the preset. Then, in the DAW, I set the input to Output 2 and the output to Output 1 (for monitoring). This is assuming you're using Output 1 to monitor with. Check to see if any of that stuff got mixed up.

Ah ha. That might be it, when I was fiddlefucking with the IO for ToneX. Thanks dude, I’ll check tonight when I get home.

Ok got my boss vg-800/gm-800 and zoia and vp4 now connected into fx loop 1 of the fm9, and also ran my beetlecrab tempera and ableton move into a mixer and out into fx loop 2 of fm9 :D

Tested beetlecrab tempera and ableton move and sound wonderful with fractal effects!

Now just gotta get a fc-6 layout set up and working for me and I'll be set!

Oh and I gotta test the usb/recording from fm9 into reaper DAW as well.

I have always been a fan of USPS, but over the past couple of years (for me anyway) they seemed to have taken a turn for the worse. The most recent example is, I ordered some belts for my lawnmower on March 3. As of March 11, it was sitting in Florida where it had arrived 4 days prior. Amazon cancelled the order for me come March 14 saying package lost and sent out some new belts. That second order sat in Wisconsin shipping facilities for about 10 days, and then they tell me it is lost as well around March 28. As of April 4, Amazon issues me another refund. On April 8th, the original order shows up. On April 9 the second order shows up. Now they want me to take the one I want to return to a local UPS office (NOT USPS) to return it. WTF! Since when am I the one to correct the delivery companies issues?

I will note that the shipping companies have been getting increased traffic flow for 20+ years with all the online purchasing these days (well, really since Al Gore invented the internet), but if you can't keep track of stuff, you obviously have some issues that need to be addressed! I know Amazon dropped FedEx as a shipper a few years back, but that is another story.

I’m still finding my way around the layouts and capabilities of the foot controllers, I would suggest getting familiar with the various switch functions and layout links first. Once you start to get your head around it you’ll probably come up with a setup that is unorthodox but perfect for what you’re doing specifically. That’s the beauty of the FC units.

Dejoy has screwed up a lot of things in the last 5 years but he just resigned, so hopefully things will get fixed up soon from his mess! :D

I think i got something I like going now :] fc-6 just controlling effects for now on the floor, and if i need to switch scenes and presets, i just do it by hand on fm9 on desk.

@FractalAudio @Fractal M@ - do you think there would be any chance of the delay block getting some selectable saturation types, maybe with different positions for them??

The existing drive control is cool, but doesn't quite offer enough. I'd really like something where I could choose a type of distortion - tube, transistor, Op-Amp, etc - with a pre/loop/post position setting, a drive control, and maybe a simple 1-pole low-cut filter to help tame some of the harsh frequencies afterwards?

I know you can do this on the Axe3 fairly well already by stringing blocks together, but I'm more thinking from a VP4 perspective.
