I have always been a fan of USPS, but over the past couple of years (for me anyway) they seemed to have taken a turn for the worse. The most recent example is, I ordered some belts for my lawnmower on March 3. As of March 11, it was sitting in Florida where it had arrived 4 days prior. Amazon cancelled the order for me come March 14 saying package lost and sent out some new belts. That second order sat in Wisconsin shipping facilities for about 10 days, and then they tell me it is lost as well around March 28. As of April 4, Amazon issues me another refund. On April 8th, the original order shows up. On April 9 the second order shows up. Now they want me to take the one I want to return to a local UPS office (NOT USPS) to return it. WTF! Since when am I the one to correct the delivery companies issues?
I will note that the shipping companies have been getting increased traffic flow for 20+ years with all the online purchasing these days (well, really since Al Gore invented the internet), but if you can't keep track of stuff, you obviously have some issues that need to be addressed! I know Amazon dropped FedEx as a shipper a few years back, but that is another story.
