Fractal Audio Systems VP4 - Virtual Pedalboard

Has anyone been able to power it from a their pedalboard psu yet? Just wanted to see if it needs the 1.3amps I saw it listed with. If it does then a Cioks Dc7 should power it I think.

Yes, I’m powering it with the Eventide PowerMax no problem, which is a rebranded Cioks 7. Using the doubler cable.

Perfect. I've been shopping for power supplies and was thinking the cioks might be the one. Good to know it'll handle the VP4 when I get one in January.

Anyone know how to erase the factory presets? I think I remember seeing it but now I can’t find it in the manual. Thanks!

So I’ve got the VP4 running four types of delays for my main gigging preset, sounds awesome:

1 Light DM2 for solos
2 Zephyr for wetter solos/texture
3 2290 with high mix + lots of mod for echo-y/trippy goodness
4 2290 with lighter mix + medium mod for delay/chorus on cleans

Also have a second preset going with 80s chorus + delay for Police/Cure covers.

The VP4 is a beast in this application!

Took the VP over to my guitarists house for a bit last night. Ran it up front of his JTM60 combo. The FX quality is just stunning. It's just dumb how good this stuff sounds. We did get some good stacked drive combos that were eluding me in front of the Stealth clean channel. I think that channel just straight up sucks. It's not a good clean channel and it doesn't crunch up to do really anything layered with drives on top. Waste of circuit space imo. Anyway; I continue to be super impressed by the VP.

Yeah, I liked the (non-stealth version) clean channel for straight up clean, but it definitely lacks a bit of personality (when compared to the best of the best clean amps), and I wouldn't call it a pedal platform at all.
