Un fuckin real:
I was thinking the exact same thing as I listened to the new track.James has to try and slap and compelling vocal/melody
on top of pre-existing and determined track-
I tried listening to it.
5:14 - Solo sounds like a ripoff of Untethered Angel
I actually enjoy that album. I think I’m going to put together a tier list.Unless it was on Distance Over Time, I actually listened to that one quite a bit.
David Lee RothNot hating. Just saying.
Sometimes I feel like the songwriting approach of DT---where the music gets all worked up
apart from the singer and then James has to try and slap a compelling vocal/melody
on top of pre-existing and determined track---is maybe not always the best approach to
a compelling end result.
Just a thought.

Oh yeah, I definitely feel that.At 4:36 in that tune, during the divorce period I was driving home from work one day and that section came in like a giant, cathartic battering ram and I just lost it. Totally one of those “this is going to happen whether you like it or not because you need it” sessions.
Same thing happened to me, but the song was Through Her Eyes. Same situation. At 4:36 in that tune, during the divorce period I was driving home from work one day and that section came in like a giant, cathartic battering ram and I just lost it. Totally one of those “this is going to happen whether you like it or not because you need it” sessions.
That was the first album they’d put out in quite a while where it actually sounds like they just had a good time writing in the room together, which is exactly how they wrote it.
