I disagree with that ,but if it works for you. Thicker wound strings often get stuck IME, it's a bit like the Gibson knot totally pointless and prone to making getting the strings off slower.

Well, none of the strings I have ever been using with FRs (10/11-46/52) have ever done that. There's also nothing to disagree with.
