Do Something Challenge Discussion Thread

@DrewJD82
It might just be on my end , but the Metal drum tracks on both challenges don’t seem to be able to be played 🤷🏻
All of the others are able to be previewed through.

Because the dumbass who uploaded the links posted the link to the MIDI and not the WAV. I’m going to go fix that dumbass’s mistake.

Wav files
It’s all Greek to me
Hahaha
See I might be learning something already!

It's fixed.

A WAV is an audio recording, a MIDI file is just digital information and in this case, it's telling a virtual drummer what drum to hit, when to hit it and how hard. It's actually really simple once you get yer feet a little wet! It's just moving little blocks around a grid!

Bonus is you can vary the tempo on midi files as well as use your own vst drum sounds and edit the pattern(s) as well. So kind of an easy approach or a more customizable path if you so desire \m/

So the wav file is what it is and a MIDI file can be manipulated after downloading?
Sorry for the dumbass questions.

Had I read JT’s post first
Well…
🙄
At least I was on the right path.

This is a video I made the 2nd or 3rd week I had EZDrummer and thought I was a pro with it, but you can see how drum MIDI's are edited. The file I'm dragging out of EZDrummer is the MIDI file.

It figures, the videos I upload without giving a sh*t get over 15K views. :rofl

Can't seem to keep up with this thread (that's about how much free time I have) but I'm sooo down. I need a good kick in the ass even if I'm busy AF

I'm all about that community/contributions life. I'm a drummer too, and can record drums for people who need them

So in logic which track type should I use to download the drummer MIDI file ?

I think you can use the tab from the menu that says import, and go to the one that says midi. It will drop it into a project. Then you pick the drummer under instruments options section. I believe these are all accessible from the main page.

Well I have a Steinway piano defaulted .
Unsure where the instrument options section is accessed?
This is what I’m currently looking at

From that screen, see under the word Details it says Instrument with a dropdown menu? Click the drop down menu, I have Drum Kit Designer and Drum Synth in mine, I just loaded Drum Kit Designer, dropped the MIDI into the tracking screen and it worked fine!
