I'll be curious to see how a touchscreen will look on a rack unit. Also curious to see how big the screen will be
Don't even know if he was talking about a rack unit or what........he not only edited his post, he's not answering questions about it either.

I don't want to accuse him of having malicious intentions, but it is a little conspicuous how Cliff chooses the timing and content of his comments about the next generation of Fractal devices. In any case, he has already been successful with Deadpool.

There were a lot of people talking about cancelled Stadium orders in that Fractal Forums thread, FWIW. I don't know if it was intentional or not but, either way, it's all fair play.

I have no doubt the 4th iteration of the AxeFX will be awesome, but the Osborne effect is a real thing...

Looks like they got the stop
One guy shows shipping label created
But a return to sender notification
Ironically all the guys says it coming Tuesday probably in the end helped Line6 avoid a huge mess , because it looks like it was actually going out

He's a shrewd businessman. I don't think there's anything malicious - but he knows what he's doing.

Yeah the slow drip of info is going to keep the Fractalites waiting.

All we know about next gen Fractal is that it's going to be powerful and supports NAM. That's not a lot. You can slap a cheap Tonex One in a Fractal fx loop today if you must have captures on hardware, or just use NAM in a DAW for recording.

My guess is that mid to late 2026 is the earliest Fractal might launch a new product, and even then it's like going to be a year or more for a "FM4" or "FM10".

Line6 actually has a full product on show, with reasonably well known "what it does and doesn't do" at release.

@FractalAudio also confirmed some serious Dyna-Cab revamping: 10-12 mics per cab and all underlying IRs being 170ms long, which effectively makes Ultra-Res cabs obsolete.

Even if Cliff drops a new Axe-FX IV next fall/summer/whatever, I don't expect the full-fat floorboard version until 2027/2028 or so. But every "nugget" dropped thus far - with the exception of NAM, which doesn't move me in any way, shape or form - is just stuff I'd already expect.

Touchscreen doesn't automatically equal great, easy-to-use UI, unfortunately. I find the Headrush Prime UI, for example, to be a low-density chore.

The timing is obvious, but I wouldn't use the word "malicious". It does seem like it might be a little "jealous of the attention Line6 is getting" though, which is not a good look.

He did this last time too, with the AX8. It's just the way things work. I doubt YGG is going to go "Oh no's, Fractal is coming out with something after the FM9!"

Is it that, or is it that announcements from other companies prompt users on the Fractal foruk start to bringing up questions, wishlist items, ponderings, etc about a next-gen Fractal product, thus prompting comments from Cliff?

Ive never been able to differentiate reverb quality. I do really like fractal's but am looking forward to the ease of use for the stadium.

But even at default, fractal reverbs sound great!
Out of the effects I use, reverb is the one I'm least picky about. I would guess for me it's amp tone > drive > chorus > delay > reverb in order of how picky I get with it lol

Questions, wishlist items, ponderings, etc. about a AxeFX IV are posted on the Fractal forum all the time, not just when competitors make announcements :giggle: . I was mainly just disagreeing with the idea that his post was malicious. I don't think it was.

Leaving aside reverb, I'm very happy with Helix amps, drives and FX. I'd update the TS pedal...should be good to go after that.

On Reverb, I'm satisfied for the most part .... but just on the most expansive sounds... I feel some potential improvements are possible. Maybe L6 should just post some tips on how to tweak Dynamic Hall which I do think sounds great...but maybe for that last 5%

In fact a series from L6 on Reverb would be great.

Won't lie—an unintended benefit of us not knowing (and by extension, not sharing) an exact Stadium XL shipping date is that competitors can't ramp up their marketing gorilla the day before our launch.

It's kinda shitty when companies do this, but I get it. We knew about Fender's Tone Master Pro a couple of months before launch and had zero interest in trying to step on their toes. We also knew about Axe FX III like 6, 7 months before launch. Some of our ME/EE team went to China and took a group photo with a then-unreleased Powercab. That same photo happened to show an empty Axe FX III chassis lurking in the background, which is pretty lazy and crappy on the CM's part. Our team didn't even see it that day; we only noticed it when zooming in on the photo later.

EDIT—Proof (potato quality on purpose):

Oh, we left plenty of surprises and easter eggs in there.

DI - any change we'll get an interview or a video walk-through with the folks that designed Agoura? Would be great to have a video with the folks in Canada explaining their work and how they believe it has brought this to being class-leading modeling. Obviously, they won't be able to reveal everything...but I think that would be a great video to share as it gets to the heart of why many of us are buying the Stadium - best in class modeling + best in class usability and features

There have been many vids on the features - but it would be good to also get a vid from the engineers and designers (maybe jointly with the sound design team)

I know there've been a few videos with Ben discussing Agoura.
