Axe-FX (A Love Story?) Rd.1

@Whizzinby Many of the guitar amps can also be repurposed into good bass amps as well.

The universe answers.

Way to break that stuff down in an easily digestible way Leon.

Definitely going to dig into this later. While I know activating the Saturation switch is essentially a Jose mod and I can tweak around other areas I already have some knowledge with, sag, Variac, IC’s, etc, having a bit more knowledge can go a long way in making your own Jose.

When I first realized I hated my guitar tone when I was 14, I explained it to my uncle as “My amp sounds like 60 grit sandpaper and EJ’s sounds like 1000 grit” and that was enough of an indicator of what I was talking about to point me in the right direction.

When I was 14 I convinced my dad to build me a horn tweeter speaker cab extension because my Peavey 1x12 cab was too dark sounding :rofl

Man I wish I had those ears back!

All the Axe-FX III love and adoration is allowing me to strengthen and further test my anti-FOMO muscles.

If I stop looking at guitars, amps, and pedals I could afford one.

Super happy with the FM3, though. Love the portability. :chef I take it every week to my Buddy's place
where we jam. Even if I get an AXE-FX someday I'll keep the FM3, because it is just too damn convenient,
and does the sounds I need it to do.

Upgrade path is obviously FM3>>>FM9 from a trusted source>>>Axe III

That's why I kept the FM3 even long after I got the Axe-Fx 3. It was easily portable, sounded great and did more than enough. Just don't build kitchen sink presets on it.

If Fractal manages to bring the gapless switching to it, that's going to make kitchen sinks mostly irrelevant anyway.

I do kinda wish they supported a limited number of global blocks for amp/cab at least on the FM3/FM9 because that's a convenient way to use the same amp/cab in multiple presets with changes tracking between them if you do them in your template preset.
