Axe-FX (A Love Story?) Rd.1

Cabs are importing fine, but the Leon blocks are not, something in the log about “The block was saved using AxeFXIII firmware version 23.0 beta and not compatible with connected devices firmware” Worked fine on the FM3. Odd.

What firmware version is on the AF3?

Now I can finally make some basic presets.

Well there’s your answer!

Install the latest beta firmware on the AF3, or download an older compatible version of the blocks library onto your ‘puter.

Just odd that FM3 worked with those blocks.

Not sure if I want to beta so close the final release.

Really looking forward to your thoughts! I’ll be shocked if you don’t love the amp models.

Even the HP-calculator-UI has grown on me. I’m doing a lot of editing on the unit now. It’s definitely not a Helix, but if you give it a fair learning effort it works fine.

Take away all of the features and parameters not available on the Helix, then compare the UI on a more level playing field.

This is kinda staggeringly badass.

8 amps…

That said I’m going to have to ruin the official firmware drop and do the beta, I need those Leon blocks back.

Tomorrows preset will be The History of Marshall, with All Da FX Blocks.

  1. What is the name of the scene page that shows the scene details in text, and more importantly how do you get back to it once you’ve erroneously gotten off it in AxeEdit?
  2. Is there a shortcut to jump to the end of the IR library where the user IRs live? (AxeEdit)
  3. Is there a view that only shows user loaded IRs? (AxeEdit)

I’m doing absolutely nothing “productive” with this (or formerly the FM3) because I’m still in kid-in-the-candy-store mode every time I fire it up. Just no bad sounds in the thing. Need to force myself to commit to a tone or two and record something.

I debating going full dork and printing the block guide in color double sided and throwing it in a nice laminated folder for casual reading while I’m on the couch pretending to give a shit about Domino Masters with the family. :ROFLMAO: Such a badass reference guide.

So when is FC24?

You can easily run two FC-12s. I have both an FC-6 (bought at the same time as the FM3) and an FC-12 (bought at the same time as the Axe-FX3). I have goofed around with running both of them with the rack unit, using the FC-6 for scenes and the FC-12 for effects. Lots of fun at home, but adds too much extra bulk and weight to be hauling around.

Oh, and don’t think I haven’t already considered running both of them along with the FM9…

Was totally being silly since you can have 8 amps on speed dial with this thing, but you have proven to be the Oracle thus far in my Fractal journey and this may be part of the prophecy.
