Anyone liking the Choptones MetBlack?

I absolutely LOVE everything I have ever bought from Choptones...but holy hell man, MetBlack for Tonex (which was like 80 bucks, most expensive pack I ever bought from them by far and away) is awful to me

It sounds like a phasey mess, garbage barfiocca pudding

I have the Metallica Cover pack for Helix, which is a stunning work of art. And Tonex capturing the Enter Sandman preset from there is about 400 quadrillion times better than the phasey ralph mulligan in the MetBlack Enter Sandman presets.

I'm hoping this will work ok for mixing, but no way for live, yuk!

Anyone actually having luck with this one?

The developer got back to me and seems to be saying it shouldn't sound like this to me. Is there possibly a tonex setting that is messing me up? All my other Tonex presets sound as I'd expect and these seem to sound the same on the Pedal, One and in the VST plugin

Bummer. Gave it a try, adjusting up and down. It made for more or less gain and noise, but the phasey weirdness never changed

This is part of the reason I hate this capture bullshit. You never really know if you’re going to gel with it.

You seem to know what you are doing so apologies if this is obvious but maybe make sure you don't have a capture with a baked in cab and an IR on top

Not a bad guess! I wonder if something like that may have crept into the Tonex version and isn't in the other versions
