Another electradyne thread

Is Mesa/Boogie the only amp brand to sneak across the border, @TubeStack ?? :idk

:rofl

Ha, that's a funny but good question. :grin

Part of it is definitely that once I pick a brand/sound direction, I'm all-in and stick with it.

The other part is, after trying MANY 2x12 cabs, the Recto 2x12 is by far the happiest I've been with any of them. And since I'm fussy and like cabs and heads to match, that points things in the Mesa direction for heads, too. But overall I just love (or loved? :() the company and their amps and am happy in the Mesa-verse.

No worries! We know this was all a ruse on your end. "If I post a super cheap electra dyne for sale, then someone will post about it on TGF, and I can say that the TGF thread was the inspiration for my e-dyne gas. Oh look!! My plan is panning out! IT'S A SIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And just for fun, here's the list of amps I've bought and returned/sold in favour my Dyne:

Mark V head
Triple Crown 50
Badlander 100
Fillmore 100 head

... and before the Dyne, leading up to it:

Stiletto Deuce head
Royal Atlantic 2x12 combo

Damn!! that's a pretty tasty lineup of amps. A man of culture I see :love

Still deliberating on a mesa cab to add to the club. Kinda tired of my Madison (lolol) 2x12 with T75s. Its a well built and good sounding cab, but its not a mesa

Man, I love Mesa cabs, and there's a lot of cool options in their newest lineup. I'd love to try the 4x10 open one, as well as the 2x10, and the new diagonal 2x12.

I think before I make any decisions I'm gonna try my janky little woodshop project sealing up the now amp-less combo shell my mark IV was in. I was kind of leaning towards either a second widebody closed back 1x12 or thiele 1x12, but depending on those results of the frankencab might still go up to one of the 2x12s

The new cab options are pretty interesting

Fun Fact :
Randall & Doug used to frequent a certsin
all nighter “greasy spoon” diner on the backside of Petuluma.
This was where their most intuitive design work was birthed…
They named this infamous greasy spoon:
“The Electradyne”
Good stuff👍

Back on topic - Maine coast was beautiful this morning!

Looks awesome. Really want to make it up to this part of the country sooner rather than later, haven’t made it further north than Philly on the east coast yet. My ex brother in law has a lot of family up in Maine but never made it there with them before that marriage went south

The ED is def a rad amp.
I always wondered what 6ca7’s would sound like
with the squish & push of that power section.
The Fortin Grind was SICK AFwith the greasy spoon from hell.
If any of y’all are looking for a pedal to take it heavy on the Marshall side-
Run it with LPD’s atuff
The 87 Deluxe.. game over.
You can keep those sweet ED cleans🙏.
With this pedal and it’s two sides with modes coupled with the Electradyne Is as good as it needs to be & you’re chasing after that gold note.
Fire in the damn hole🤘🏻

-the LPD 74 Deluxe was so butter’s you’ll
forget the bread-after it you went!
Really good pedal also.

For me dudes. -it’s all in the top end blend🎯
I always gotta have the full EQ also for blending in the.midranges and shaping the bottom ends,or keep the midrange adjuster
on the pedal low with your amps midrange
control high and find the hot mess & simmer
it down & dial it in with the controls,
Even your guitars pick-up height’
-simmer down the hot mess & find the match
that flows & line it up.
I’m big on adjustments, how things are set-up and maintained etc.
Get it sorted & get after it💯
Word!

Idk it it’s happening :idk At this point if he doesn’t respond by the end of evening I’d almost want to bail regardless on principal alone. Littleton isn’t the closest drive and I don’t really need to be left in the lurch as a buyer on an amp that’s been listed this long. Sure I have tomorrow off but I’ve already put off other plans to be available waiting for a time that for some reason won’t be provided to me

Its funny how a short drive through the woods can start to feel like a long one...

I feel like I jinxed you, man! But I hear you on being hesitant on a transaction that's gonna leave you feeling uncertain about what you just bought.

Haha nah didn’t jinx me

Not even so much that I’m concerned about the product, just starting to question a deal someone that I’m starting to get the sense that they don’t have a basic level of buyer/seller mutual respect :idk

Almost wondering if he listed it to appease an S/O or something and doesn’t want to actually sell. Price seems a little too decent for that to be the case though

I certainly don’t -need- another amp especially considering that I’m the happiest I’ve been with my available tones in a long time. But I’m not gonna lie I was getting pretty jazzed on the concept
