..

Was a joke. People here are complaining about the power amp in this when the company offers an entire range of products including stuff that addresses their complaints, re the 20's power section.

I get it, we want every product to be designed just for us. I'll bet a lot of people will be into this new head, though. Friedman does just fine w/ 20W EL84 amps and he is heavily involved w/ Synergy these days.

If the 20 does great we'll likely see an updated 50 or maybe even a 100 with the digital back end, I would think. That'd probably be more suited to folks disappointed at the 20W/EL-84 config.
Gotcha, and agreed on all points.

That’s Brad Paisleys amp check the specs it has the same controls , that’s Damn cool

IIRC the speed is a faster preamp response for the fast chicken picken stuff
Comfort has softer attack more sag
Thanks for the info. Seems like a pretty cool / unexpected module :)

Based on the fact that many are asking price on their FB page and they are answering all the other questions I will guess this one at $1699 to 1799 range

Hmm, that's more than I will pay :D

Now if it comes with a module of your own choice, I'm in...

Or, if the structure switch magically makes the EL84s turn in 6L6's...

I think the fact that none of the hosting platforms come with a module included is a sticking point for me and maybe others.
It's a bit of outlay just to get started.
But the fact that it has power amp simulation similar to IRX and is a power amp - I am very tempted.

With a module it ends up at about a similar price point to the Soldano Astro 20.

But I do feel the Synergy heads and the SYN-1/SYN-2 have always been kinda overpriced. The SYN-50 is $1599 at Sweetwater so the SYN-20IR being more expensive, without even a tolexed box just plain sucks.

The Syn30 was ~1200-1300 and it has one module slot plus clean channel, (likely) bigger OTs, etc. The 50W head streets for $1599.

No way are they going to try to sell this for more than the 50W w/ two module slots.

This digital back end is likely all in the can from the X88IR and IRX, etc, so really I'd expect this to replace the SYN30 and be priced essentially the same or maybe +/-$100 ...The IRX costs ~$100 more than a BE Dlx module. So that's about what the digital stuff is adding to cost.

If it manages to come in at that range it'll be really competitive considering a comparable Friedman branded 20W is ~$1500-$1700 and most are only two channels.

This is a good point, there are a lot of EL-84 20 watt heads out there between $1,000-$2,000 where you have to like the way it sounds, (no changing of modules), and not all of them have a customizable/digital back end for going direct.

The Suhr PT-15IR is $2,799 street, and you can't change the tone stack, etc.

I hope you are right but I still have a feeling because of the tech it will be more than the 50
Look at the Astro it’s $1999
Has same clean channel
Tone / volume 4 voices
No reactance , no tube structure setting , same IR backend and 20watts
I think it will be closer to that than the Syn30

Here is some info from the guys

- our target is between $1599.99 and $1799.99. This price includes a module. Official videos will be at launch later this year. The structure switch is a big deal - burning the midnight oil dialing included software etc. It will be worth the wait - promise.

They make serious quality stuff. The SLO and Uberschall preamps module especially are incredible and the SYN5050 worked better than expected for shooting IRs.

Y’all really like the Synergy stuff?
Didn’t Bob Bradshaw pioneer that design?
The Linkin Park dude had a rad BB set-up.

That sounds way more reasonable.

Ya 1799 is not bad if they are giving you a $350 module loaded in

The Astro features the IR loader but I think the way the structure in the power amp will work this would be the first time someone has used software to control and make changes to the internal analog components in the amp , if I am not mistaken

How is this different than any MIDI controlled amp like line6 DT series or Mesa Mark VII & Badlander?

I don’t think midi is reconfiguring power amp circuits with the Exception on Line 6 DT I believe they did have class A setting but I don’t know if that was midi programmed
We are not just talking the IR loading we are talking the software being able to change analog settings in the amp
Hughes and Kettner Grand Meister might be the only one that I can think of that could have some of that programmability

DT series amps allow control of power amp operation (class A, A/B, triode, pentode, and negative feedback, all via MIDI. It's nothing more than an external digital message enabling and disabling relays to control the analog signal paths. Nothing new at all.

It would be new for Synergy and I believe any builder associated with Boutique whatever whatever. Which, to be frank, would make me want to wait for their second stab at doing this, especially if it was announced at NAMM and they're doing marketing on it while...still figuring out how to actually do it. Which seems to be the case here.

This makes it much more reasonable. Thanks for sharing this!

Excited to get more details and demos...
