Got this private, last minute, like, 4 days ago. It was almost 4 hours away. The entire event was from 6pm-9pm, last night.

We were supposed to play from 6-6:45, and then close the event by playing from 8-9, with a Q&A presentation in between.

Well, 6:45 came, the Q&A started, and never stopped, until 9 :rofl

So, I drove almost 8 hours round trip, played (1) 45 minute set, and made a few hundy, lol.

I was like, the most expensive Uber driver last night, and got to play a little guitar.

Some of these oddball "event" gigs may not be the most fun but they are always nice when you don't end up having to play that one song that has you dying inside after all

Years ago I did a bunch of shows with a Contemporary Christian singer over a couple of summers, and we traveled a bit. Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia. There was one weekend where we drove from Seattle to Eugene, Oregon. Did one performance that evening, and had one more the following afternoon before loading up and heading back home. Our lodging for that night was in the homes of some of the church members-people I had never met in my life. Didn’t sleep much that weekend.

2 years ago almost to the day....we had a corporate gig at one of the downtown hotels in T.O.
We were supposed to start at 8pm and finish at 11:30. They went through 100 speeches and we got the green light to start at 10:45pm.
Made 3K and played for 45 mins.

Was glorious!

That sucks!!

Yeah, sorta. I had this brand-spanking-new, PRS 10 Top, Burgundy Tiger Eye Single Cut on loan from the factory for a month, and it was hands-down the easiest-playing, most beautiful, amazing-sounding guitar I'd ever laid hands on, so I was really stoked for our gig. Had invited lots of friends, but they made us stop 3 songs in, due to it being too loud for the still-remaining dinner customers in the restaurant downstairs.

I was crushed, and the full payment we got didn't make up for it at all! Some people I'd invited showed up a bit late, including my younger brother, whom I was excited about him coming, so they didn't hear even a single song.
