Why the fuck do you people want shit to be small?

And you're all still wondering why there are so few women in this scene?

"The nethermost caverns are not for the fathoming of eyes that see; for their marvels are strange and terrific. Cursed the ground where dead thoughts live new and oddly bodied, and evil the mind that is held by no head." The Festival

No headless guitars, no odd bodies...

I was thinking about the Dimehead NAM thing. It’s not too big, it just has shit I don’t need. I wanna load a profile, I want a three band EQ like the plugin, I want input and output trims like the plugin and I want a few presets (preferably selectable via midi). I don’t even need it to load IRs. It’s not too much to ask, and it shouldn’t need to be bigger than an HX One. Thanks Father Christmas, amen.

Because the older I get the less I want to stand up and play. And ow lord if I ever have to bend to twist some knobs.
Nowadays I much prefer something that sits on my desk while not taking up too much desk space.

As someone here mentioned, HX Stomp to QC is the perfect size.

I'd just like to say your use of "Hear! Hear!" rather than "hurr durr Here, here durr" warms my pedantic heart. Thank you.

I am actually constantly wondering about these things. Plenty of native speakers seem to use "here, here" - which I never understood at all.
Similar with "it's a bit to late" or whatever.

It's "hear, hear", actually, I think....

Lots of "harrumph" out there, too....
Yes, exactly. Someone is saying something great and you're calling people's attention to it, "Hear! Hear!" instead of "Listen! Listen!" "Here, here" doesn't make any sense in that context.

As you know, I agree with your size assessment for gigging. The only thing I would consider using a small 3 button device for would be as a backup since it would be easier to carry (something that would fit in the other throw bags I use for cables would be nice).

I can't stand 3 button for live gigs though. I got enough going on without trying to tap dance while I do it (no one wants to see me do ANY kind of dancing live I assure you :) ).

Yeah totally! I don't think I could live with just 3 buttons.

The other day I did a rehearsal and I had:
Lehle volume pedal
Cry baby wah pedal
Boss SD-1waza
Meris LVX
Meris MercuryX
Dual Recto foot controller.

Loads of switches!!

I think more in terms of weight than buttons.

I could easily do a gig with my Darkglass Microtubes 900 bass amp, which comes with just a one-button foot switch to turn on or off the distortion section.

For guitar as well, I could easily do with just a two button controller that switches between channels and turns the FX loop on or off.

For a modeller, the smallest I've gone is a Zoom 505II (can't figure out what preset I'm on), while the biggest I've used is a Fractal Audio FC-12 (too heavy, I'm resigned to the fact I will never gig with this).

I think the QC is the goldilocks size, where I have enough real estate to do everything I need to. I'd still only use about three or maybe four buttons though.

As I said, I used to get along with a 2 channel tube amp and an EQ pedal for both sound shape and boost for lead. 2 buttons :).

Now, I can't use anything less that what comes with the Kemper Foot controller.
