Why the fuck do you people want shit to be small?

QC is the best of the bunch for that (maybe TMP is similar). But there’s still amps where you can’t fit all of the controls on one page, and you need to select things before you can adjust and look at the screen etc.

But most of all, it’s a weird inbetween of something that isn’t sure if it wants to be on a desk or on the floor. So yet again, plugin+MIDI controller wins again for me. Footswitches belong on the floor, controls and screen where you can reach them, screen where you can see it.
Any recommendations for MIDI controllers?

Small gear is whack. Bog schlings rule the day. Schling scaling sclog

Even the nebcoromponcon knows that fear dhud be big
Even though my FM9 has hundreds of amps and cabs, with pretty much every FX ever used for guitar, I could never transport it to gigs given it's tremendous mass and enormous footprint. Try adding an expression pedal, and you would be lucky to even get it through the venue doors.

I may be able to make a Pod Go work if I shed a bunch of other gear.

I bet the large majority of people who want their floor modelers to be small are those who want them permanently installed on their desktops.

Depends how much you want to spend really! I use a Behringer one that cost about £30 and it works well but I bet there’s nicer ones out there if there’s something particular that’s important to you. MIDI is so established and widely adopted that every possibility is out there.

I’d actually love to see HW modellers become more modular - choose an input stage, amps/FX/IR’s, footswitches, screen etc all potentially as their own devices. Shoving it all in a big box on a pedalboard doesn’t really make much sense to me, feels partly like an old habit/expectation that they fit that format.
