Is that a Fender Bassman with a 6x10 cab in the background?

I knew you guys would come through

So you think it's the Tonemaster 4x12 in the bottom? What about the upper cab? In the background the upper cab looks taller than whatever is at the bottom.

I looked up the Tone Master and saw a variety of them, including a Bassman, so I wasn't sure what exactly he's using.

Richie Sambora used to use those-

I think the camera angle in the top pic might be stretching the cabs a bit?

Those are their newer Tone Masters, they had a tube amp in the 90’s with the same name.

It's not the digital Tone master series that was released by Fender in 2019.

He's using the Fender Tone Master tube versions. You can see it in videos as old as 2016:

FWIW, looking again, I don’t think he is plugged into any of the amps we can see. No cable going to the inputs on any of them and no lights. The mic stand in front of the Tonemaster made me think that’s what he was playing but I don’t think so.

Good catch! If I were to guess, I'd say it's his Shiva. I had a 20th Anniversary Shiva that sounded like that. Some of the best cleans I've ever heard from an amp.

Any idea which Fender amp the original Tone Masters are most like? Bassman?

The clean maybe a showman/twin. High powered unapologetic Fender cleans like the big amps with SS rectification and 4x 6l6’s. The overdrive channel is its own thing.

Edit: BTW, if you want one, budget for a good load box or attenuator because they really need to be played loud to open up and get sounding good.

I think I’m done with 100 watt amps. 😁 I had a YJM that was either off or concert volume. The loudest amp I had was actually a 35 watt GR. When I played my first note with it at home, it literally scared the crap out of my dog.
At this point, I’m more curious of his gear as I want to try to replicate it via Fractal. Of course, if a low wattage alternative pops up, I’d be very interested in that as well.

You are way better off sticking with Fractal than trying low wattage amps. Digital does a better job of sounding like a big tube amp at lower volume than any low wattage amp I have tried, by a very wide margin.
