What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

I have no idea what its called, my theory is limited :sofa , Im starting on A string on on10th fret ( G note ) to 15th fret on C note, see videp below. :nails:beer

Isolate the specific movement that you are having trouble with and shed it over and over, without playing the rest of the arpeggio.

So if it’s, say, four notes of the arpeggio, just play those and not the entire arpeggio. Once you have that problematic part down, then incorporate the rest.

It's a Bm arpeggio. Here it is in Am:

at least now i know what its called hahahah thx bro. :beer

that's what im doing, putting brain and fingers through grinder, since my stroke my brain dose not work the same.. ( not saying it was genius before but things were bit more easier to grasp ) lol
:rawk

I found it helps to take them in small pieces. Like, the first one I learned was from a Jimmy Page lick, 9-8-7 on top 3 strings, ending on 10 on e string. (Em7)

Then, switch the pattern to 8-9-7, ending on 11, which is the same shape as yours. Practice as slow as you need to get the notes even, with a metronome, to get the muscle memory down first. Then gradually increase the tempo.

Today's plan--
Do some fretwork on my newer Tele partscaster, get it in tip-top shape. If I have time start the refret process on my old MIJ tele. Haven't decided whether to use Dunlop 6000 or Jescar 58118-EVO. I have both here, I'm sorta leaning toward the nickel Dunlop but...

I fixed the bridge pickup height on my RG, that had been way too close to the strings but wouldn't adjust. Long story . . .

Happy to say that I'm now adept at removing a trem without wasting strings! Popped out the pickup, put it back in and wahlah, good to go. Another great mystery of our time resolved, but the mystery remains.

Messing around with Logic’s Remix plug …

Kind of fun! Like crack!

The RG has been giving you the stink eye since the new kid's been in town?! :rofl

I sat down for practice my usual shit and I still suck at it.... after playing same shit over and over and still not been able to do it is annoying as fuck.... Frustration level hit all time high..... I gave up playing for this reasons many years ago for 5y and when itch was getting out of control I started to play again....

I've been playing guitar for over 10y and I have not improved much..... I have no talent and all my playing is just pure work..... It takes long time for me to master technique or learn a song in its entirety ....

Have any of you felt anything like this? I dont mind practice but if i dont see results Im thinking is it even worth it me to keep at it????

Keep playing Mega, but maybe move on to something else and perhaps revisit later on when you've cleared your mind of the negatives?
Speaking for myself, I try to look at music and playing as more than just technique and exercises -- it is as an expression which captures a vibe of a song or hopefully leads to a song. I enjoy learning techniques that push my limits but it's easy to get bogged down trying to compare your abilities with someone else's. "There's always someone better" is true to a point, but we each have something special to offer (i'm still trying to find it:rofl) and need to be honest with ourselves too.
By no means am I saying not to push yourself to achieve a goal, but maybe put more focus on the aspects of playing you love and build off of that.

Adding more thoughts..
Being humbled is a good thing. It kicks us off our 'high horse' and puts us in our place so to speak. But humility can also refocus us. Working harder is usually the answer to most things, but the goals can shift. I struggle with this everyday.:grin

This is factually and objectionably untrue, my fried! Stop with that shit now! You’re just in a slump, I just went through a two year slump. Keep picking it up, even if you have to force yourself to. It’ll come back and you’ll wanna be ready to go when it does!!!!

Following this series;

I knew about the 8 and 9 note scales but never really explored the compositional side. I only ever improvised using them and very much as passing tones. Mode 3 Messian is insane but easy to overlay on the whole tone scale (which you will probably know already) and it repeats in major thirds. Major with added b3 and b6 is very usable.
