What are we watching now?

@sashimi if you’re looking for it, it’s not really widely available to stream, it was included on a handful of physical alien box sets over the years. For streaming only spot I was able to find was renting it from fandango at home for $3.99. It’s labeled as “special edition ” there (which i guess that label means assembly cut + color correction and improved audio). Make sure the run time is 2:25 rather than 1:55 before paying any money lol

Thanks! I will have to check this out. The theatrical cut of Alien 3 is a disaster. I always wondered what it could have been.

Just finished The Institute (Stephen King series). Really enjoyed it. They left a lot out from the book, in order to keep it to 8 episodes. But what they kept in was the right stuff and real close to the book. The kid castings were great.

We are 3-4 episodes in on Dexter:Resurrection. Really good too. Glad he’s back. I liked Origin too, even though it was a little cheesy. But this one is shaping up nicely.

And also 3 episodes in on Alien Earth. Digging that was well. Pleasantly surprised. I love Timothy Olyphant.

Peter Dinklage and Kevin Bacon. They're both great in it. Bacon's character hits a certain wall to me towards the end but that's nitpicking. Dinklage as Toxie is hilarious.

Dinklage as Toxie doesn't interest me. Then again, the idea of a Toxic Avenger remake didn't interest me much to begin with. I love New Line for the Nightmare on Elm Street films, but they screwed Troma over when they bought the rights to Toxic Crusaders just to pressure the rights holders into a second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.

Covidy and been banished to the attic like a leper. So today has been:

- Just Cause
- Anger Management
- Happy Gilmore 2
- Naked Gun

Watched a couple of great 90s flicks.

Tbh I’m super butthurt this whole super hero film rush didn’t happen 20 years ago

Back then my ass would’ve been so stoked. But at the ripe old age of almost 33 I just don’t give a fuck

33?? Dude, you’re just getting warmed up.

The superhero thing is played out because the superhero thing is played out. Nothing to do with your age.

P.S. Standing by waiting to see how they’re going to make the next season of Penguin half as good as the first, instead of ruining it… by introducing a superhero.

Last episode of Sunny was great.

Dexter is rolling along excellently.

Latest developments on Alien are a mixed bag. I really hate the tech bro character. Just terrible. No menace and just a bad pick all around. I do think Olyphant and Morrow showdown will be a saving grace to some of the underwhelming parts? The Peter Pan arc is really not something I like at all either. I will say the actor/actress portrayals of kids in adult bodies is great though. I'll watch it through either way.

I have some stuff I don’t like about Alien Earth but overall enjoying it. Given that Noah Hawley is running the show I’m hoping for a fucking crazy second half like we’ve seen with Fargo lol. There’s a lot of cool directions I think things can take. I really liked the eye octopus creature and goat scene

I guess one thing I was anticipating was some flashback episodes leading up to the events of the beginning of episode 1 retrieving the specimens….. I hope either that occurs or else that’s a setup for a potential prequel season?

I wasn't aware Fargo guy was involved? I loved that whole show. Judgement reserved then by association. Looking forward to who gets the implant next week
