What are we watching now?

Anyone else watch every season of The Last Kingdom? :idk

How does it play out? Worth it?

I dove into the Series a couple of nights ago and enjoyed the first 5 episodes.

Total sucker for The Middle Ages.
I have, as it gets later in the series if I remember correctly, like most others, less nudity and rehashes of similar story lines. Worth it to finish, just dont expect to see as much bush as the 1st series.

Stayed up too late last night watching Hereditary. I was in the mood for some horror, and apparently this is going off of Netflix in a couple of weeks.

Very nicely crafted film. I love the sets (the house is practically the star of the movie), and the lighting is absolutely gorgeous. The acting is top-notch across the board, with masterclasses in miserable, haunted, horrified... Very affecting.

Story goes a bit off the rails and chooses the "open ended" option over the "tie up the loose ends thus retroactively cancelling all the horror" option. Call it the lesser of two evils LOL.

I got my money's worth when the camera suddenly fixes on the mom on all fours on the ceiling, banging her head against the attic door. I don't scare easy, but that's just creepy AF. Well played. :D

(P.S. The movie is occasionally a guilty of the, "Please use your superpower now, and read this tiny cellphone/ email font from across your bedroom. Stay tuned after the film for a coupon code for your new 85" TV from Amazon Prime. You really should have one by now" thing. Have I mentioned that I fucking hate this shit? 50 demerits LOL.)

FANTASTIC film.

Watched Adolescence the other day.....pretty damn good! I guess I didn't realize it was only four episodes till it was over and I was looking for the fifth.......

Also been watching The Good Fight......meh, not bad if you liked The Good Wife.

Started The Pitt last night. Show hole plus let's try and get my money's worth out of this Max sub. Pretty solid so far. Definitely if ER was more technical minded and could showcase some gore?

Some show on NF I'm halfway paying attention to as I play. Bout a conman..., same old story, targeting women, telling them all these lies that make him sound mysterious, etc.

He tells them he's an MI5 agent, undercover as a used car salesman. And my first reaction is, how can people be so fucking stupid to fall for this bullshit? What MI5 agent is going to reveal that he's an MI5 agent? Used car salesman indeed.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

The Beat That My Heart Skipped from 2005. Same director as Read My Lips. This is second in the three film collection for Jacques Audiardon on the Criterion Channel, and I like his style. Both films weirdly deal with the other lives of real estate professionals in Paris. It doesn't sound interesting, but it is.

He has a kind of post modern empty grit, where everything is in the toilet, but the characters are interesting, and you can't really tell where anything is going, but the journey is interesting and compelling.

But I need to know, does everyone in Paris need a week in the sun and a month away from booze and cigarettes? All his characters look like they're about a week from death from malnutrition.

Watched The Rule of Jenny Penn last night. Cruel, mean-spirited flick on Shudder about a nursing home bully. John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush are in it and their performances are excellent as to be expected. Again, mean spirited and depressing as it portrays what is basically a nightmare scape for people at the end of life. Oddly inappropriately comical in some spots because of the stellar performances. Definitely a tough watch but I loved it nonetheless.
My recommendation is, if you are => 60 years old, do not watch this movie! It will simply give you nightmares now and through any internment in a nursing home ;~(( It is very well done as Mr. Turkey has stated, nightmare fuel nonetheless.

Switched up my “throw away pass out to this nonsense show” from ancient aliens to Leonard Nimoy’s “ancient mysteries” from the 90s. Far superior content but god damn, why is his narration mic clipping so hard
