I know.. "ever since Fender"...

But they seem to be slightly lower production volumes, so....?

Genuinely wondering because I was an 80s kid and 90s teen, so metal guitars are basically Jackson and ESP to me.

I can't say I've played a TON Of them, but even as someone who is quasi obsessed with Jackson I don't think I've played any post Fender (I would say the first year I've only been playing them regularly in stores since like 2019 so I don't have real experience) have been kinda meh to me- like nothing wrong with them but I don't get wowed like I do when I play most ESP Japan, Tyler, Anderson etc guitars. I do think a hardtail Broderick I played in 2021 was amazing but other than that the best I've played have been from the 80s- really hoping I get my hands on a 95-01 or so because that's the last era for me to really get a chance to play.

Someone I do trust with most of his opinions says there's a modern used one at his local Guitar center that he says plays majestically though...

Worth asking. Theres special places in my heart for ESP M types and Jackson Soloists.
Always thought the carved top ESP that Garsed played was cool too.

Thats a Horizon type, might be a III? Theyre very nice, but S-Type carve top are less my thing.
i have been interested/curious in older ESPs, I've mostly just played new stuff but have heard some really like the early 90s/late 80s stuff
The current Original Series stuff is the of the same standard, but very pricey. Even more than Jackson USA Select.
