It's early in my "this generation" journey but the motorcycle ride in the Requiem was one of the funnest things I have ever done/experienced in any piece of entertainment :chef

Ok so I played Hollow Knight for a bit tonight and got to phase 2 of the boss. Wasn’t as bad as I remembered, I’ll probably take him down in a few more attempts. Those jerks trick into thinking you are done and then they come back with phase 2!

FWIW I got stuck at most of the bosses in Hollow Knight for a couple hours at least, sometimes a couple days. It took a good while to learn the attacks and how to play them. Once you get it figured out though it will seem really easy.

Hollow Knight got an update on the Switch 2 which is FANTASTIC. The whole thing is now high resolution with much sharper and clearer edges and text. The colors are also more vivid especially with the light effects. It really looks awesome. I started a new play through a couple days ago and probably halfway through the game. I won't get 112% because I can't do Pantheons at all but I do want to get true ending which I've never attempted.

I don't have a lot of time to play. But when i play it's call of duty.

Lost the fun in COD years, too fast but also slow in movements meaning if you didn't play 10 hours a day it's last place. Also the insane jumping and jet packs took away the fun.

Since the new movement system I'm playing again and absolutely love it. Still miss the levels you could play more tactical instead of probably teens running around the whole time. But it's a good mix now.

You perfectly described how I felt the last time I played which was back in about 2010. I'd log in at night after the kid went to sleep and just immediately got killed over and over again. Same thing the couple times I tried Fortnite when my kid was playing.

Way back in the day I used to play Battlefield 1942 and Planetside which both had some strategy or team coordination. COD was a lot more like Team Fortress or Counter Strike which was just a lot faster. Not my bag.

I think the same period.
Those CODs were amazing and loads of fun.

What i like about the new ones is that you also get kills when you "help" and not make the final shot. It keeps me much more motivated than constantly ending on the bottom ;)

Yeah PS5 got the same update - gorgeous game!
My kid and I just did an overnight trip to Boston to see Knights of Tears perform the music of Hollow Knight.

On the one hand, as beautiful as the game and music are…stretching that out to even a short-ish 50 minutes of “concert music” especially for $45 a ticket, was…a bit much.

On the other hand, seeing a bunch of 13 year old nerds dressed as Hornet showing up to enthusiastically take an almost an hour of string quartet music was pretty great to see. The venue was an old gothic church I walked by a zillion times when I lived in Boston but never bothered to take a tour of when it’s open for such things in the summer and was a pretty spectacular spot to sit and take it all in.

Looks like the hq of the Railroad in Fallout 4 😍

Played like 30 hours of Crimson Desert so far

Game might have the shittiest, most unresponsive control scheme I've ever played, and boss battles are so janky that the go-to strategy is to just cook as much food as possible and spam heal

Story so far is also dogshit and many of the "main quests" are pointless menial jobs that have almost no relation to one another

HOWEVER

The game is fucking *gorgeous* and performance is rock solid (I'm playing on PC with a 2080ti and it stays locked at 60fps)

The map is mindblowingly huge (biggest I've ever seen) , and the exploration aspect alone has me hooked.

I'm conflicted; its simultaneously really bad yet oddly intriguing

Could only recommend it to people who enjoy slow burn exploration games that encourage you to create your own fun, if that makes any sense.

If you go in to it thinking you'll love it because you loved Skyrim, Witcher, Dragon's Dogma, or BOTW/TOTK (Crimson Desert one-to-one rips off these games in at least one aspect or another) I would caution you because the gameplay feel is really nothing like any of those

One of the silliest CRPG tropes. Imagine you're in a fight to the death, and your best hope is to simultaneously stuff hamburgers in your mouth. :D

Funnily, I was playing Fallout a couple weeks ago when a friend came over and I got all giddy when I say the station, to which my friend asked why and I started giving her the history lesson on it when she stopped me and said “ya ya ya, the place the guy got shot that kinda started the Revolutionary War?” and I was a bit stunned because this friend is NOT into history, but then she reminded me that I made my own Drunk History episode the night I snapped this picture and sent it to all my Florida friends. :rofl

Maybe some day I’ll upload them, I know I put the facts in but there’s also stuff about Washington and Lincoln Eiffel Towering Redcoats and whatnot so I gotta watch ‘em first before posting freely.
