Video Games

HK you can grind to get weapon and health upgrades plus spells are OP and you get them early. SS I’m 1/3 of the way through the game with zero weapon upgrades and just got my first health upgrade. It’s almost entirely dying repeatedly to try and get slightly better.

Also fuck the ants. Fuck all of them.
I never use spells and I know I should lol - I think I’m maybe 2/3 of the way through, the map is very open now and I’m hungry for more lore at this point lol

Git gud, scrub.
After a certain point, I have to do the juice versus squeeze math. Hollow Knight did a pretty good job maintaining a dopamine drip, but Silksong demands a lot of the player and comes up a little short on its own end, at least in the first few hours.

To be clear: I love all the metroidvania exploration stuff in both games, but the paywall (in time and frustration) bosses are not my idea of “fun”.

Yeah I totally see that. Silksong is like “hard work is its own reward” which is a completely different type of gamer. Those aren’t my favorite games.

I will say when I beat the boss today it was satisfying as hell. And then 10 minutes later I ran into another boss that completely steamrolled me. At least I found another area that I could get through reasonably.

I still haven't played SS again since the first evening it dropped lol; gonna get back on it soon though

Reached endgame on the new Path of Exile 2 league this morning; the new campaign was soo good

I've been stuck on Moorwing since yesterday, maybe I'll go explore somewhere else until the patch drops lol

I figured out a way to cheese him by mistake when seeing if I could leave the other guy to beat him for me.

Go all the way to the right and up the gust of wind. Then when on the top section go all the way to the left. It can'treach you here and you can biunce on his head.

That is some fine cheese :rofl

Patch incoming for Silksong. They've nerfed two bosses I've already beaten.
Great news for scrubs like myself. :D

Though they probably haven't touched the boss I'm hung up on (Bell Beast), since it's the first real boss and is probably considered "easy" by most of the target audience.

I'm sure the hardcores at the HK sub will be out in full force ripping on the casuals. Looks like I've beaten those two bosses as well but each got me stuck for a couple hours. Honestly I think most of Act 1 could use the bosses doing one instead of two masks of damage.

Sister Splinter was extremely satisfying to beat, I did have to watch a video though which showed that you can use the needle spell to break the thorns. Otherwise once I got decent at avoiding the flying enemies I could kind of steer them into her claws.

Moorwing was just annoying because the boss had so much damage, you had to grind the fight forever nearly hitless. Movement wasn't too bad though. Runback was annoying until I realized I needed to open up one of the paths back.

Every day I get past one difficult thing hoping it will let up a bit but then it just keeps ramping up. I need more of the dopamine hit rewards for pushing past the harder levels. Still looking for that first weapon upgrade...
