Random video that kind of works here, apparently some old DOS games had fantastic music if you had a high end sound card (we did not):
I saw my 11 year old daughter playing some FPS dumb shit on Roblox and saw my opening. “Wanna play Halo and shoot aliens?”
Now she loves Halo, started with the first one OF COURSE
Roblox is a cesspool of child predators trying to chat up kids. I know this because there is a whole genre of YouTube content creators that bust child predators in stings and a lot of them come from roblox. Just a heads up, I’d want to know if I were you.I saw my 11 year old daughter playing some FPS dumb shit on Roblox and saw my opening. “Wanna play Halo and shoot aliens?”

Yeah I know - I have the entire thing locked down as much as I can lol - she can't chat or make friends on there.Roblox is a cesspool of child predators trying to chat up kids. Seems, to me, having watched a few videos without spoilers, it has more “content”. Like everything from 1 but more and better.I’m around 100 hours into Death Stranding 2.
I love it, but this doesn’t give me the same vibe as the first one. Right out of the gate, everything is easier. I’ve checked several times to ensure I’m on the Normal setting because it’s a bit too easy. So far I’ve been able to drive everywhere but 1 mission, where I basically drove to the edge of a mountain, spent 10 mins on it and left in my vehicle. I’m now playing in a way to make things ‘tougher’ on myself.
I miss walking for an hour without interacting with anyone, having that music come on and just mess with your mood. I haven’t experienced that in this game once and don’t expect to now that I’m finishing up. It’s certainly a continuation of the first, more than it is exploring new ground.
Some great features added, I love the monorail system and feel they improved on several things, but the one thing I miss is the overall vibe of the first game, when you didn’t know if everything was going to be ok and spent more time saying “WTF?’ than anything else.
Pretty much how I feel about it. It feels very familiar to the first game where I'm often asking "When is this going to do anything different?"I’m around 100 hours into Death Stranding 2.

But I would have liked to see even more loneliness and darkness and moody shit.
Seems 2 is brighter, funnier and just… more. But I guess the story is great and such, should be.
I’ll replay nr 1 this year to give it another chance and take in nr 2 when it arrives on Xbox.

I feel like this could use way more vehicle options, and make some terrain just impossible to travel with the car. There's just not a whole lot of reason to use the floating carrier or the coffin board when the pickup offloader or tri-cruiser are just far superior options in every way.
Plotwise I hope there's some payoff. The Charlie character seems entirely pointless, and why does he look like a naked Professor X in some of the order instruction sections?
I just had a mission where I was bringing stuff to the Geocryptologist or whatever, and decided that since it's in the snowy mountains I should take the coffin board. Only to quickly realize it can't use it offgrid so now I'm trawling through the snow to get there. But now my battery is dying and my stamina is depleting so it felt like there were some real stakes to that journey, and that made it more fun.
I've built so many roads at this point.Well, everything is closer together on the map, so you're never far from something going on and it can be congested at times, not any kind of issue though. I believe I'm around the 85% point and I got the "Finish up any remaining business before you start the next mission" warning, so I dunno if it's going to trigger the end of the game but I've spent the last 2 days just building infrastructure because I regretted not doing that more in the first one.
The problem is that it doesn't really require you to diversify your travels. The only inconvenience of the pickup offloader is that you have to get out to pick up chiral crystals from the ground. Otherwise you can just ride it and pickup everything until it's too full, and it can fit a ton of stuff!I suppose the game is giving you the option to travel however you wish, but there's definitely stuff that helps you travel MUCH faster than the first game. I'd be willing to bet what I'm experiencing is a result of complaints from the original game being a walking simulator and how long it took to start driving freely. There's some cool additions on the travel front, very handy and cool within the game.
Yeah that's one of the few areas I've encountered so far that really needs a different approach, and I wish there were more like that. I also built a catapult on both sides for easy travel.Hell, the one time I thought to use the coffin board I couldn’t put it in the truck and I had too much gear on to carry it on my back and the only time I’ve “had” to use the floating carrier was when sending stuff to The Inventor, but then I built a catapult there and on his island so I don’t even need to do that anymore.
Guns, lots of guns! Atm I roll with a whole arsenal:I think the most challenging thing for me so far has been knowing what to keep on my back; the few times I’ve been caught by a big BT I’ve gotten away because I keep plenty of guns/grenades on me. The one time I didn’t I had a void out. It’d be kinda interesting to see what happens if you just go for maximum void outs!
